Why no game play videos released by now from all the gamers testing this game the past few weeks?  There is plenty of features that we'd love to see in action, and since Tasos himself has told us long ago that everything is working and that Darkfall is ready and feature complete, what are they hiding such videos from us for?

They are either totally disrespecting their player base by not releasing information, or else they are totally disrespecting their player base by lying to them about the state of the game.

It's one or the other, either way they are being very unprofessional.

I gave up on this game 5 years ago, when they announced a release date a couple weeks ago i started following it again, only to realise, quickly, that they are as full of sh!t as ever.

Wait till the 23 and if the game is not released, it will be more cool to post something like this. The game could still be released and this will explode on your face. Im not a fanboi, but is always better to wait till stuff happens.

Sorry I'm a bit tired, but I have a theory on this.

Really, there's a lot of game companies out there that use an already built engine. So usually all they need to do is base the minimum requirements on the engine and build up from there.

However, DFO is a custom engine, complete with a scaling engine (which I don't believe yet honestly) and if that is the case, it's a bit tough to figure out the min/max requirements. Granted, they could just throw something out there with no problem, but there's another game that did this:

Age of Conan (until they optimized all their code)

That analogy is wrong is so many ways i dunno where to start, a better analogy would be.

"Someone is in a kitchen preaching how their food is awesome and that everyone should buy it and eat it, you walk in and ask for the food, the person keeps showing a bit of beef and some uncooked vegetables once in a while and saying how good the food is and that you should wait for it, you havent seen any cooked food or even a menu and want to know what you are gonna pay for when its ready but the person just shows you uncooked vegetables and meat, lunch time passes , dinner time passes and your still hungry and no food is cooked yet."

Screenshots are like those nice pictures placed on the wall of the 8 pound hamburguer that looks absolutely perfect but when you order it, its nothing like the picture, That goes for teh video as well both are just visual stimulations you cant actually play it and you cant know whats behind the scenes or if its even real.

beta leaks? havent actually seen any beta leaks saying anything besides whats been said , they are so basic its not worth mentioning, its either "great everything works", "features are turned off its bad", i could come up with these beta leaks its 50% chance of being correct on each of them.

Don't lie about things like this. Even Age of Conan told us how many servers they had for launch by telling us the name and what type of server they are. Warhammer did this too. Warhammer even took the extra step to tell us that we have X amount of servers, but are only opening Y on day 1. But, on the chance that BlahBlah servers fills up too fast, we will open up another server to alleviate the stress.

By stating polish things more you are implying that the game was already polished when most of ( the three or four reviews out there ) state the game isn't ready, much hasn't been added, and animations are horrible.

I think this goes along with the complaint of no real beta with a large amount of players instead of a small beta with only 1-2k.   If they let lots of people in sooner, they'd know this answer instead of waiting until the last minute (assuming they still do have some form of stress test/open beta and assuming they will actually look at the results of the beta which i guess AoC didn't fully do).

i think what that dev meant by "uninvited" is that the game is going to be f2p.   otherwise, it's just more stuidity (i'm sorry, arrogance) from df devs.

assuming, of course, a df dev said that and not just some random associate producer.

Name one game in the entire history of MMOs (yes that broad), that has ever came under 2 weeks to release without providing tangible information to its potential market? I mean there are NO tech specs for Christ sake? How does anyone in this forum no they can run it. Open your eyes people.

doubtful, wow was extremely well developed and streamlined. i'd be surprised if my wow-killing comp runs this game anywhere near as well.

Seriously mate. Saying its “scaleable” and “guessing you can run it at medium” is all very heresay at the moment. My point is what if it turned out to be an age of conan? I mean lotro was very scaleable but a few people still had to do minor upgrades to their PCs based on the min sys reqs that codemasters released. The point is they were still well informed whether or not they had to do that or not. The same cannot be said of DF
