I'll be honest, graphics mean squat to me. Gameplay, a good crafting system and depth is all that matter IMO. I began playing ultima online again for the last week just because a lot of the darkfall features are an updated upgraded version, and I still love it. I played uo for 7 years and never bashed the graphics once because the game was SO DAMN GOOD. The only downside that burned uo was the cheats and the eventual loss of population. I have been begging for a 3d version of UO and from all that I have read, this may be BETTER than I hoped. The last 3 years all I did in UO was crafting, so my type of gameplay may really benifit from full looting.  If the graphics are not the best on the block, well it won't bother me in the slightest. From what I have seen, the graphics are more than sufficient. I would rather better frame rates personally once we get into the large scale battles. I tend to turn graphics all the way down in games like AOC just to improve performance anyway, not because I need to, but because a lot of it is useless fluff anyway.

The graphics are...acceptable at best, honest opinion. But if it does indeed have the outstanding features and gameplay that it says it has, I have no problem ranking it 9+...But let's not forget that we have a serious lack of real visual info, either it goes the good or bad way we'll see soon enough right? Not many games to this day had everything it said it will have at release...hopefully DF will be a exception as its been in development for nearly a decade?

This has to be some of the most choppy animations I have seen since Wolfenstein. My god this stuff looks outdated. I really hope they have gameplay elements in place because they can't score on animations, graphics and the smothness of the experience.

ive watched it and i don't think its crap just average

i just watched another video and saw SHADER use,i am impressed ,i did not think these guys had much in them.For such and old game,these guys are far ahead of most other efforts,especially for that era in time.Why are people being negative here?Did anyone expect this good a looking game from Aventurine? i for sure did not.It is a notch up on WOW most certainly.

As far as others stating game play matters more,well of course that is a no brainer.However you can say the same thing in reverse,good game play and pong graphics is a worse game IMO.

I can say without a doubt that Graphics will NOT be any source of issue here in this game.We need to wait and play it ,to better judge how well this game is done.It will be hard for me to swallow,because i am spoiled by FFXI's sub class system and combat,but i will wait and see how it goes here.

you knnow, in the end, graphics are not as important as gameplay. I dont mind 2nd tier graphics if the game itself is fun!. This is one of the reasons I always go back to DAOC.

Still, graphics are something that can easily be updated after game launch

the animations can be polished in future updates, so i don't see that as too much and issue for gamers

The FFXI system was greate until it was tatined by cookie cutting

haha xipher i agree 100%[cookie cutting].Anyhoot,this about DF here and i think many should give the game at least a chance,especially since the graphics look like there was some effort put into the game here.

I never cared for DF, In fact i did not tink it was going to come out.  I am going to try it, I am 98% sure im not going to like it i think its going to be a gank fest 99.5% of the time, and i dont find spawn, die, spawn, die fun.

Looks good enough for me. Gameplay > graphics

Im not the type of gamer who would choose graphics over gameplay. Heck I still play Master of Orion and Fallout 2.

Having said that, yuck Darkfall looks dam ugly. The animations are boring and simplistic. Given that the video is from 07 Im hoping theyve revamped the graphic engine but my guess is they havent.

Ive too often seen ugly games like Roma Victor in beta and they dont look any better at launch. Darkfall would need a complete overhaul graphics-wise for me to consider playing it. Ultima has all the elements I want in a sandbox MMO but im not going to play it and neither will DF get my money with such bad graphics

I said this game looked like crap few months earlier. Poor character models, very outdated graphics...looks like a World of Warcraft gone wrong. In conclusion, it looks like another WoW-haters bandwagon MMO.

Shrug, serves the company behind Darkfall right for not releasing more current pics/videos on a regular basis to demonstrate progress with the engine. I hate when developers/publishers are tight-lipped leading up to release; it doesn't exactly inspire confidence.
