This has to be some of the most choppy animations I have seen since Wolfenstein. My god this stuff looks outdated. I really hope they have gameplay elements in place because they can't score on animations, graphics and the smothness of the experience. 

That video is a few months old. As they say looks are not everything but game play is. It does have a new angle and elements to it, maybe best to take a wait and see approach.

Animations and avatars are the worst I have seen in many years. The only explanation I can find for this, is too sad to write it here.

Well listen mkay they are able to have FULL looting,pvp,economy,skittles,unicorns and what ever else WoW doesnt have.   that makes up for the graphics

large scale wars require crappy graphic. If you played AoC at launch you'd realize this. However, I'm pretty sure that vid is from like 2007

Seriously I am going to say this right here and now. You sir are the biggest troll of Darkfall. Yes you! Not the people who say "Vaporwarezzz!" over and over. The only thing I don't like is the blood splatter I hope they have a option to turn it off.

I dont think they will change much.

Still graphics looks good enough for me. Saying that it is crap sounds just idiotic for me. Almost every game have same graphics, there is only how detailed it is. But if you wanna best graphic possible just go outside, RL have them done pretty good :)

Games shouldnt be played for graphics ( at least it should be very small part), it should be for what we can do in game.

 Yeah...I have no clue why this game is so overhyped.

I said this game looked like crap few months earlier. Poor character models, very outdated graphics...looks like a World of Warcraft gone wrong. In conclusion, it looks like another WoW-haters bandwagon MMO.

Got 11.5 million subscribers and growing? Pwn'd.

It looks crappy for an AAA title, which is why I'm able to excuse it because a dev team of 30 people is practically indie in these days.

The animations have changed since that video. 

Atleast the run anim has.

Graphics is good, animations isnt.

And i agree, WoW and EQ never had any gameplay worth the name, so im not the slightest worried about some animations not being top of the class.

To OP - Darkfall PvP looks amazing.

After watching all the trailers I can say that it appears that DF has sacrificed graphics development for game play and performance, just like WAR tried to. IMO, more games should do this since if a game has crappy game play then no amount of graphics will save it. Look at all the people that left AoC in mass. All of them say the same thing graphics doesn't make a good game.

P.S. I still play AoC tho and find it to be a good game

Hold your horses, i can understand animation criticism but Darkfall graphics is top of the class. So Darkfall will score very high on both graphics and gameplay if they deliver whats promised.

And you have to remember - gameplay is always what counts in the long run.

The thing is all of the crap that has been released with improved graphics and technical feats isn't fun.  Graphics don't make a game fun, and what this genre needs right now is some fun games.  I've been playing a game that is 100% 2d and it is more fun than half the AAA graphically enhanced MMO's on the market right now. 

If graphics are your thing then there are plenty of options already out there.

Agree, it requires low polygon graphics but i disagree it's poor graphics cause of that. WoW have low polygon graphics and in that case i totally agree, it's very ugly low polygon graphics.

Darkfalls graphics is so much better then the graphics we see in WoW -

Just compare these two, both from 2008 -

Darkfall -

WoW -

 WoW is cartoonish and plain awful. Just look at the WoW sky if you can call that a sky will say.

This is the most recent and most close to what the game should look on our monitors, gameplay video. Not that the animations are A-grade here, but for the sake of accuracy research some more before posting.

In all fairness to Darkfall, if you compare the video referenced by the OP to the video shown at the Athens Digital Event you can see that both the graphics and animations are much improved. 

The Athens video is from Oct 18, 2008 whereas the other video footage is much older.  Also, the Athens vid is a video of a overhead screen projection presentation (a copy of a copy so to say) which makes the colors faded and the graphics fuzzy and un-detailed looking.  To see the source video would be much better to judge.

To be sure, all the vids show a game still being polished and one that is obviously not trying to win the "prettiest game of the year" title.

There is light chop that seems to stem both from lag and frame rate issues, and the Athen's video shows a stopping of action at certain points as if a zone is loading.

The textures look good, especially on the mounts, but yes, the anims need polish.

The environments are varied but do seem to have a sameness to them, especially in the lighting and color areas.

At least the mounts can swim in DF, unlike the ones in WoW, so score one for Aventurine.

But the OP has one valid point:   Aventurine needs to release more updated content info and polished footage to get us players stoked.  The old vids are not getting the job done as far as pimping the game goes (IMHO).

Aragon100: I dont think it is worth to compare screenshots, because you can take worst ss from DF and best from WoW and make DF look like piece of shit. For minimum comparision you should take gameplay videos...
