Hello. If this game turns out to be real and gives us everything it says it will give, is anyone looking forward to playing an assassin type character? From what I have read there will be no automagical invisibility for the stealth types. It will be staying to the shadows, wear non metalic armor, camoflauge kinda stuff.

To me this sounds awesome! Sneaking in to an enemy castle or stalking someone, waiting for just the right time to strike, the chance of discovery.... anyways, I just want to know if anyone else feels the same way. Or does anyone think this kind of stealth system just wont work?

Depends. If i can turn down graphics options so low to remove foliage and shadows what will you hide in?

Hmm, that is a good point. I dont know what I would hide in then   Oh well, I wish they would release more info on stealth. Maybe disquises(sp?) ? Hiding in plain sight? Guess I will have to wait and see.

I've already decided that if melee is as "meh" as it is in the Elder Scrolls games that I'm going for a thief/mage type of combo. Hopefully there will be spells like cameralon, charm, fear, a posion/dots. Better watch out, if you see me move through the trees you're fate is already sealed.

There is no invisable spell in the game.

There is however suppose to be a few versions of incognito from UO, what changed your name and looks. It's been said you'll be able to change your alignment, name, guild, ect. to disguise yourself. Also when you move you make noise unless couched.

The incognito stuff I read from a dev journal of some sort, they might have removed it since then like they did pets.

Chameleon doesn't = invisible, it just makes you blend in with the environment easier. When used in the elder scrolls series you will less obvious and didn't make as much noise, but if you moved to quickly the illusion would fade and you could be spotted. There isn't any reason why there shouldn't be something similar in DF where you cast a spell and you character takes on the colors of the forest or something, which wouldn't be any different than wearing a gillie suite in COD4. I'm very intrigued by the incognito system. Spying ftw.

Stealth!

Have you ever been out fishing or hunting in reallife? Stealth take a lot of patience, and you never know when you will be detected by something. Three hours gone in a second.

But the few that will master this.....they will be very dangerous.

I am looking more to noisy mass PvP battles
