This is my first review for a game ive ever posted on these forums so if its bad dont blame me its just my experience =)

If your running a newer vista OS (64 bit like mine) FORGET IT. This game is as compatible with that OS as BioShock running on a computer with a comuter of 64 MB RAM. Crashes every time you log in to the time your in a epic fight. Ive requested on forums they fix it but theyre support is just terrible. Theyll delete threads without even reading them or when they dont have an answer for them. You could sit there for weeks and when you think you get a reply its gone.

If you complain the game is too terrible you get the same excuse as everyone else " Oh its open beta of course there is bugs and glitches "

If its open beta it should have at least some things working on it. This game looks so bad it shouldve stayed CB for another 3 monthes.

If you can look passed the bugs and glitches then maybe this is a game to at least consider. As far to my knowledge there is 5 to 6 maps and theyre all pretty much decently sized and there is a lot of quests to be done from level 1 to level 50 on both classes. The PvP system is alright depending on which server you play on. There is a lot of other stuff to do as well, They have guild wars, mining, fishing, cooking, armor making, weapon making, and lots more to do. 

My warning to you: If you want a game that you have to quest to the level cap and like dual class games play it but beware of the bugs some OS or even some specifications on your computer can ruin your compatibility with the game and youll do all the work of downloading it for nothing.  AND there is Macros you can make so scripting can take place and thats never good.

Graphics: 6/10 (decent)

Dialog: 7/10 (better than most)

Support: 1/10 (at least they keep forum clean)

Interface: 8/10

Overall: 6/10

I have a freakin p4 ati 9600 pro and 1gb ram that I'm pretty sure was built by a caveman and I run the game fine.

I've also wrote on their forums on how I don't like the task of leveling 2 characters in 1 and it wasn't deleted.  What did you do make your post in all capital letters?  They will delete immature threads written by babies.  Why am I being so harsh lol... sry I'm bored.

Anyways, thanks for telling us nothing about the game at all.

And I'm not defending RoM.  It's a decent game but it's boring like all mmo's and you have to level 2 classes in 1 which I think is lame but that's just my opinion.

oh, and your 3650 does not have 3572 mb of ram.

A 'review' usually consists of examinination of pros and cons that a game has. This is a complaint.

 When does a Ati Raedon HD 3650 have over 3gigs of ram? I can't even find one on Newegg.com nonetheless. Which only goes to show you need help in giving reviews. This game has very low system requirements, and I know plenty of people running it with a 64bit OS. Your threads are getting deleted because you don't know how to properly make threads. Read the stickies before you post a thread, it could help. Now that i've said that, anything else you want to lie about? =)

Edit: Also on a side note, you do realize Runes of Magic has been out for quite sometime. Don't let the name fool you, Frogster is just porting the game.

Also about the game, This is more of a warning than a review.

Would have been nice if you'd wrote My Warning instead of review considering RoM is the most solid and fun F2P game I've encountered.

It has it's small issues like memory leaks and translations that need tweeking, but none of what you said is the norm.... I play on Vista 32 bit, quad core, 8800GT nvidia card blah blah, runs beautifully.

Have you tried setting the compatibility mode to XP Service Pack 2? If you havent just right click on the client and go to properties and select the Compatibility tab and set the mode to XP Service Pack 2.

that's the problem right there, u both use ATI... tsk tsk... when will people learn it's all about nVidia (the company that bought voodoo technologies ... ahem... nvr buy ati, your asking for troubles)

can you describe some of the gameplay, does it play fast like Hellgate, or slow like Warhammer.  Is the class skill tree interesting and new?  What are some spells?  Weapons any good, ...how about the crafting system (is there a crafting system?)

Please eleborate more on the game as I'm interested in this.

When your buying ati your not asking for trouble your asking for performance =). I had a ATI card in my old computer for 4 years never had a problem until I bought this vista 64 bit OS =/ 32 Bit runs fine on RoM this thing does not... and a lot of other 64 bit users can agree on that

I am using 64 bit Vista and have been through all of the closed Beta.  I have had no issues at all.  Maybe you want to consider cleaning up your rig. Run ccleaner and antispyware software such as spybot , adaware and malwarebytes.   If you are using Norton, or trend micro, then you must uninstall that shit. Update your video drivers. Clean up your startup as well. Once you do the above, we will talk. Yes, the game has bugs but obviously, every mmorpg does.

Gameplay runs sorta moderate. Not too fast not too slow. But if you run around on a mount its fast to go from map to map but if your walking its slow your character feels so small in such a big map with how fast he runs. The Skill tree is all the same except for the Elite skills from level 15 to every 5 levels from there you get an elite skill and its always something different for your class.

Some skills I found interesting was that you start out with 2 skills when you make a character. One small skill to get you by and another that has a 10 minute cool down which is usually your best skill.

Weapons are quite random from any other game Ive played >.> I still dont understand the + system or the alchemy one but ive only been playing for a bout a week to get into the game THAT far. which is pretty deep once you learn that stuff you know it all. The weapon types I can name right now are: Bludgeon (blunt type of weapon) 2h Axe, 1h Axe, Dagger, Sword, 2h sword, Bow, Crossbow, Scepter, Staff, Wand, and you can always go bare fisted =P

The crafting system... There is a lot to do actually. You can Woodcut, Mine, Herb Harvest, Cook, Armor Craft, Black Smithing (make weapons), Alchemy. That's all I can think of as of right now. But if you feel bored of training and questing you can always do those to keep you busy.

The guild system they have set up reminds me of SilkRoad really because of the Resource system. On SRO you had to put money out to level up your guild which was always difficult. (lots of other games did this SRO just came to my mind) This game requires your guildies to Harvest Wood, Ore, Herbs stuff like that and REFINE it into much more worthy material to donate to the guild. Right now our guild is level 4 going on 5. and it requires at least 7k of each material which is about a week's work for just 1 person if you do it 24/7. At Guild level 3 I think you get Guild Quests. 5 is Guild War system activation. and from then on it's just more member capacity I believe.

PvP System only works if you go to a pvp server go to another one your stuck with putting up with KSers and Scammers and cant get revenge =/. PvP server you got the REPUTATION SYSTEM. You can either kill the innocent noobs and be a wanted pker or help them and kill the wanted pkers and get the good rep. Bad rep results into less exp and tp (skill points dont know why they call them tp..) and vice versa for the good rep.

Leveling; You can either grind your way to the level cap of 50..not really a smart thing to do.. or you can quest to 50 which is the only real way to do it. Once you get both your classes to level 50 congratulations your maxed until its out of beta then you can either get maxed harvesting and other skills or become a guild leader and do things before other guilds do.. Like kill a Giant Guardian in the second map (Have fun killing him btw)

Now...the moment everyone has been waiting for... What is the strongest mob in RoM and what level is he?

REALLY if anyone can tell me WHAT it is I will be glad to spread the word. Right now I think it is a Giant Guardian >.>

This massive monster stands at least 100x taller than you. I will post a screenshot of me compared to it later. He is a elite boss (notice the crown by name)

(I play in the highest quality on 1024x760 by the way so this is about as good as it gets with the graphics not showing off my flashy skills)

I don't normaly post on stuff like this but i had to i LOL'd so much. this amost made my night here at work.

So i came to this post trying to get a review on Runes of magic. Little did i know that it was a QQ fest on how bad this dudes computer

was. IMHO you should do alittle more research on computers before u buy. Don't take the word frome the guy that works at walmart.

I have to say, I really had a good laugh. Thank you for making my boring holiday night at work a memorable one!

I have 64bit vista and run this game without problems. The performance of the game is quite crappy (it behaves like it's reloading all the textures to GPU everytime you move a mouse), but it's definitely playable.

 

Consider yourself lucky then >.> a lot of people are having problems on theyre forums about the game randomly crashing or freezing up =/ sometimes its not the computers fault last night we had a mini crash around midnight with the pvp server on international.

Yawn....another Vista hater.  Been playin for some time with no problems on Vista64.

I wanted to thank you for this review, and I am now downloading the client as we speak

  So far i havent had any issues at all im 43 knight/warrior so far going good and by the way your computer must have owner issues not game content......
