Since the release of DarkSpace version 1.5, we have been hard at work implementing new features.

The most significant changes since 1.5 rolled out are the introduction of a semi-intelligent AI, and ship Enhancements.

Evolution of the AI...
The AI brings much needed life to the game. They run around the universe building planets, attempting to capture enemy planets, and doing pretty much anything that a player can do. If you need urgent supplies and players are unavailable to assist, then the AI will attempt to help out in their place. However, if your team already has enough members in the local area, then expect no such help...

Shiny purple things...
Enhancements are a new feature introduced with version 1.506. They are dropped by either AI ships, or other players, and add a bonus to armor and weapon systems on your ship. You can select which ones to install, but unlike normal weapon systems they can also be destroyed if your ship gets damaged enough.

Due to all of these changes, we are opening up our game servers for the next couple of weeks, so that people can have full access to them for free. That means no subscriptions and no coupons are required to access Prestige locked content.

We have also increased our referral award credit, so that members can get 30 days worth of subscription time for each new player they can get to subscribe to the game.

The latest version is highly anticipated as it contains the following features:
Numerous AI controlled ships now populate the game world and now the world seems more alive than ever.
