Any warriors use herb/alch as a profession and if so how is it working out for you. Any feedback would be great.
Thanks

Doesen't seem to be totally out to lunch, as there is good money to be made in herb gathering, and there are plenty of very useful potions and elixirs you can supply yourself with. If you're in a group, and you've got a healer, it's even better, because you can go nuts with rage potions without having to worry about them being on the same timer as healing potions. CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested. Once a denizen of Ahazi |

while lvling up its very nice to herbalism as a warrior, the healspell you get for it is very helpful. Once you hit 80 its not that useful anymore. |

None of the tradeskills will give u a big boost to your character powers. Herbies get a nice self-healing skill that u can use once in 2 minutes -good for soloing. Miners get increased health - good for tanking, skinners get critical strike rating increase - good for DPSing. All of those are just a small boost in your performance. All of them work fine with the warrior.

Just out of curiosity, is this something new they've added recently? I don't remember ever getting a boost with any of my professions, unless I just never noticed it.. ------------------------------------------------------------ |

Wow. Thanks for that amazingly intelligent reply! It should have been fairly obvious that I haven't played since before WotLK came out, and I'm assuming it was considering your reply. Way to go, Ace. ------------------------------------------------------------ |

Most tradeskills got some little perk that was only usable by the crafter in the last patch right before lich king. Some tradeskills always had some perk like jewelcrafting and ring enchants, other new ones were added like alchemists getting 2x the duration of flasks/elixirs, herbalists getting a self only heal (and some self only buff herbs, but those are being removed).

Aye, those changes were added some time ago. I dont remember when though :( Another ability to mention (non-combat) tailors get an ability that lets them find additional cloth from northrend humanoids. Nifty for a crafter, useless for a combat though, unless you really love making bandages hehe. I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time. |

the gathering changes are not that old
they were introduced with patch 3.0.2 10/14/2008 1 month prior to the launch of WOTLK

Of all the 1900 new recipies in WotLK about 90% are all about boosting. ---- OP: I think it is a great choice, because the newest is the boost in resilience for potions and each week you learn new recipies at max level. Great choice for a warrior. no you retard... the recipies dont give boosts... The proffesion it self does... Wow... if your gonna rant someone atleast get your fact's right. |
