Let me preface this by saying that I am a bioware superfan, and star wars has played an integral role in my upbringing. More than anything, I want this game to be a success. However, the realist in me sees nothing of substance, thus far. I understand that very little has been released, but at some point, shouldn't we expect to be blown away?? The screenshots and concept artwork are especially bland. I have yet to see anything that resonates with me. (Please link an image I may have missed if you disagree.) I understand that the magic of bioware has always been story and perhaps not technical achievement, but if you are going to release artwork, there should be something in there that contains a bit of inspiration. Perhaps I am jumping the gun, and being unfairly harsh, but when I look at this game honestly, the only thing that is compelling is the name of the IP and the name of the Developer. In the end, it will take much more than names to create an enjoyable gaming experience. p.s. Yes, I have been drinking. |

I can say their decision to go with "clone wars cartoon" graphics style dissapointed me. Other than that, it's waaay to early to tell. This game won't see the light of day for a couple of years. Either way, I'll probably pass on it. I'm not much of a sci-fi guy. (as far as games goes.) I hope it turns out good for all the poor SWG guys though.

with the games that bioware has released so far ( and the fact that SOE has nothing to do with this) i have high hopes for this game |

Nope your not the only one. I'm totally underwhemled at this game. It's gonna be WoW in space, and it looks like they may even use RMT. Way to go EA! It will be a hand-held experiance from start to finish. People will run their jedi from 1 to whatever and quit. It's gonna be a single player game with friends sometimes. So far this has not been talked about as an MMO, it's KOTOR with friends. You even get a pet to fight for you right from the start! No matter what class you are. Just like KOTOR!!! WOOT! Whatever. |

Please remember that Graphics dont make an MMO graphics draw in the winy whores who want to jack off to their toons gameplay is king you cant judge a game until you have seen the game play and story we know the story will be good because its bioware and thats what they are good at gameplay is what we have to watch for will it have turd bucket game play or will the game play be good ? so long as the game play is good the game will do weather the graphics are top of the line or not how many super pretty graphics games have failed on gameplay in the past year or so and then proceeded to crash and burn? |

Of course you're not. I'm thoroughly displeased at the intended gameplay and the visuals. Like many others, I was expecting so much more from the union of Bioware and LucasArts. Of course, I'll try the game out, but I'm certainly not excited by the prospect. |

No, you're not the only one. When I first heard Bioware was making an MMO I was very interested. When we learned recently it was the Star Wars IP my interest amped up a notch. WHen they started releasing interviews and giving a ballpark idea of where they were going and how they were thinking about htings, well, I lost total interest in it other than to watch it's developement and how those who still think it's the second coming react to it. Not to mock, ridicule or otherwise antagonize, mind you. Just to get some sense of what others who share my interest in both Star Wars and Bioware. For those who are elated about what they are seeing so far, hey, more power to you. For those who expected TOR to be more of a truly encompassing effort at really representing the words "living in the Star Wars universe", which includes all walks of life in addition to the hero path, I feel your pain. I could live with the artwork if there wasn't the stipulation that I had to be heroic and iconic or that things such as crafting are considered, according to Rich Vogel, Co-GM Bioware Austin and previously of SWG Pre NGE: "You know, crafting at its heart is not really what the universe is about. But one of the designers came up with a great idea, which I can't talk about because it's not implemented yet, of how to incorporate crafting into Star Wars without forcing a hero to do something that's very non-heroic." But hey, I have to give proper respect. I haven't read, yet, where Vogel has stated that there is something for everyone gameplay wise in TOR. One of his co-workers made that claim in one of the interview videos and, well, with what they've told us about TOR so far, it was utterly false. I wasn't looking for SWG2, as some of the less educated here will try to twist my and others words into. I was, however, looking for alot more. "Many nights, my friend... Many nights I've put a blade to your throat while you were sleeping. Glad I never killed you, Steve. You're alright..." |

About artwork and graphics. I think Bioware is being very....sly about it. Thye say they're going for their own style but there is definitely an underlying reason. By going catoony, they don't have to use advanced graphics, meaning more people can play their game, and the graphics are more timeless, needing less updates. The only thing I'm worried about is the combat system. And Lucasarts. I hate those guys, |

I agree with the general comments in this thread , I too feel a bit underwhelmed after watching the initial launch media. Then again I like my graphics to be more gritty and realistic and I like the sandbox model of an MMO.So I have two major problems with this game right here! The problem with my preferred Sandbox model is that it goes 'against the grain' as the majority of gamers want things on a plate hence the A to B storylines which leads to a herioc character in a short period of time and therefore maximum feelgood feeling. I want to 'live' in an MMO and do what I want which means crafting, trading, shopping, adventuring, fighting etc etc ...if I just want combat then I'll play an FPS but SW:TOR as it stands does'nt fill me with enthusiasm so I'll sit and wait to see what they unveil in the future as lets be honest here we have'nt really seen much of the game todate so we can hardly be in a position to judge . Pre - media launch expectations : 9/10 Post - media launch : 6/10 For now my main hopes rest with Earthrise but that game has'nt shown us anything yet so again it's a wait and see. |

The fact that Bioware is making it made my hope skyrocket. The fact that LA got a hand in it made that hope crash and burn. Now my entusiasm for the game is nothing more than lukewarm at best. The cartoony graphics kinda turns me off the game aswell. In fact, Lucasarts should lose all rights for the StarWars ip and George Lucas, together with that idiot pal of his (Spielberg), should only be allowed to play with crayons and never touch a camera again. |

I think it is WAY to early to have any real opinion about TOR. We know pretty much nothing about any of the important game details. In the end, you only know when you play a game how it really is.

I'm pretty underwhelmed myself, and I am a huge bioware fan. I own every game they have ever made on the PC. I think the problem is EA, and their desire to create another WoW clone. WAR didn't teach them. |

Honestly, I never even noticed the graphic style differences until people started pointing shit out to bitch about. Then I was like meh, but now the style has grown on me after seeing allot of it. TBH I think all MMO games are fucking cartoon graphics, so this whole cry fest over graphics is moot to me. As long as it don’t look like WURM online I’m good. |

Most people that have a lfie dont wet themselves just by seeing artwork of not coming soon mmos. I'm not a no life that sits in front of his computer all day long, I'm an intern that sits in front of his computer all day long. |

I have no concern about the graphics. The negative feelings i have against TOR so far is, that it seems it going to be a very linear game, with little freedome and a instanced world. |
