After reading a recent interview I have become more and more conviced, the game we are about to see launch will set the standard for many years to come.

Feel free to soak in the original article here http://www.curse.com/articles/darkfall-en-news/372269.aspx

You have to hide in shadows, blend in with the terrain, crouch in the tall grass, take advantage of elevation; you have to make sure you don't make a sound to alert your prey. During testing I watched a large group of players stalking one character. They did it for several minutes before they were detected. It's infinitely more interesting and fun than just clicking a key and waiting for an outcome.

This philosophy truly immerses the player in the world. We are not watching a queue for our frag fest scenario or waiting for a 40man raid dungeon timer to re-spawn. We will be thinking about how we can elude our preys senses.

What's turning out to be a unique feature as far as dungeons in MMOGs are concerned is that we don't have instancing. You go into a dungeon, and so do your enemies. You don't just have to contend with the inhabitants of a dungeon but with the other players.

Once again we see how players are imersed in the world. There is no magical wall where you "ZONE IN " and are all of a sudden safe from your enemies. The idea behind the MMO that so many titles are failing to grasp is their player base is not wanting to play a game but travel to another world.

A powerful fireball for example can do a lot of damage to a lot of people, but you have to take into account the problems with friendly fire, and self damage if you launch it to a target too close to yourself.

Did he say friendly fire? PBAOE groups are no more? Wait.. what?! This glaring game mechanic has been looked over countless times. Why is everyone all of a sudden immune to my spells?

     IMMERSION.

Have you actually played the game?

Have you actually seen a video shows about these features?

Have you actually seen anything besides Goblins and uum a dragon?

Tasos says a lot of - a lot - things, and mostly he starts his sentences  with "hopes" and ends with  "soon after " .  And followers like yourself believe every word he says, leaving all the logic, common sense, and reality behind.

Wake up, no need to put so much belief in something / someone besides than yourself.

Lets face it, MMOs today are turning into single player console games with a chat box included.

QFT. Only a fool believes everything hes told. Tasos&Co first goal is to sell this game. Thats a huge bias. Havent you learned anything from the recent influx of terrible MMOs that were more hype than substance?

It's funny to find people rushing to give an award to a game that wasn't even released yet. Assumptions to the max.

Give us a break, it's not out and you're already giving "10/10 Darkfall cures cancer" views.

Why should Tasos lie and say that there is Friendly Fire if it wasnt? Same with none instancing.

But of course it's mmorpg.coms belowed forum. doesn't matter what they'll say all 'sceptics' will not believe it until it's released. And yet spending more time than every one else talking about the game.

Transparent isn't it. The sceptics are the biggest fanbois, they have just not figure it out yet.

The Sceptics, yes they're special but we've need them to.. I guess.
And if they're put more effort MMORPG.com can create a 'Team Sceptic'
and send them to the Special Olympus.

That's totally IDIOTIC!

We all know that only Tasos' tears can cure all cancer and HIV, but it's never actually been proven since he's never cried. However he's set a date for when he's gonna cry, Jan the 23rd I think, so all the doubters will find out then! See you there with a hankerchief!

So both of you have nothing else to add to this topic but  Argumentum ad hominem, wide generalzations...

Stealth has been seen in videos in the sniper sequenz also has been described in last part of Giannas preview ...

Beside Dragon  and goblins  we have seen  skeletons ...

Self -damaging and friendly fire has been demonstrated also...

Wake up, filled with so much hate can cause healthy problems, only fools attend something that causes them these negativity for so long...

Yeah because trusting a developer's opinion on his own product is the best way to get an unbiased view.

I used to think I couldn't get more fun than in darkfall's official forums, where you can get crucified for saying a negative comma about the game, it is amazing how people react there, you should see it. But guess what, I was wrong. It's always nice to see people and their beloved e-utopias here. Keep them coming.

I do not hate Darkfall. I do not even care. Since it isn't the game I want to give my time.  I do not even plan on buying, however I will try if there is Free Trial just to see after all these years, all these discussions what Darkfall is all about.

However I dislike the community (Fanbois). But I do not blame Fanbois, I do blame Darkfall Devs, and Tasos for not giving legimite information about the game and for that reason causing misunderstanding, miscominication, and gap between fans and mmo community.

But why lie about a think like friendly fire? Why even think it? Do you think it's to exaggerate to say that friendly fire is in?

It's called Paranoia

Immersion is great and as a long time fan of games like Arx Fatalis and the Ultima Underworld games I put a lot of weight into how important an immersive world is.

What concerns me is if DF will be fun or compelling in any way beyond being immersive and realistic.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Damn you can't wait a week to post more of your fanboyism. Why is it that every time I se your name I just know its more DF propaganda. Go play the game first before claiming anything. Please stop your basement cult meetings for DF. They are truly making you go

I really enjoy the DF community they are fun. Honerstly I enjoy the ranting and raving. It makes for great entertainment. Which if we're honest with ourselves we know that's what were here for.

However, I think your making my hair fall out with some of the blind faith. I want the game to succeed so I can play it, so I'm not a hater. I'm just sick of all the blind faith with the devs.

I hope you all are this loyal to you kids.

Yeah, but most people dont' care for immersion.  Just look at WoW's subs with 0 immersion.

All this sounds very good.

My problem is all that I see is text.  There is the one 17 min vid and about 10 screens from the noob comic which really doesn't show all that much.   Certainly nothing in your narative above.

I go to the website, and I see the same screenies and text I saw two years ago.  I go to the noob and I see text and a very few edited screens.  I read the Curse or MMORPG.com interviews and get nothing but text.  The DF fans post Text...not screens, not vids, not play journals, but TEXT...all empty promises until further proof is given.

DF and Tasos now have to be careful.  Too much of this cloak and dagger bull and no one will try the game even if it IS good.   Folks don't like to be jerked around, and posts like this (and the referenced Tasos interview) is very much jerking us around.

It makes me ask, "What is it that Aventurine wants to hide so bad?"

Anyone can type up a list of features and testimonials.  What the DF devs need to do now, is release hard screen and video evidence to back up and support the OP and the Curse interview.  They need to relax the NDA and let their testers begin to advertise for them.  If they do that, then this type of PR will be a smash success.

However, as it stands, it sounds like a few folks are being paid or are volunteering to blow smoke up our butts and then condemn us when we ask to see the cigarette that is creating the smoke.

The only Immersion I see are the epic claims and resulting hate on these forums.... It is high time for the DF devs to put up or shut up.

There is a sticky here , could lead you to more info, like the ADW video(like 100 people watch someone with the clinet playing the game)  and the MMORPGItalia video (watch 2 people "over their shoulder look" play the game)

     IMMERSION.

There is a sticky here , could lead you to more info, like the ADW video and the MMORPGItalia video

Ty.  Will check it out, even if my Italian sucks.

They still need to put forth more info into the mainstream.  This will create a sense of validity.  Remember, Aventurine is trying to sell me, for they need my money as a customer to survive.   I cannot speak for everyone, but as for myself, I find I am very reluctant to believe in, much less, pony up cash for something I have to scour the web for.

Being DF is a month off of release, they need to feed my need for info and make it as easy as possible.  They need to sell me, and the best way to do that is to let various sources (affiliate, review, business and fan) do the speaking.

I am only speaking for myself, as a potential DF customer.  I wanna believe in DF, I just need Aventurine to gimme a reason to believe, or better yet...buy it.
