There's nothing saying you have to buy CS items. And if you really feel compelled to get diamonds, just vist the AH. There's always someone selling diamonds for gold. So gimmie a break with the "have to spend money to compete" crap. If people want to spend their RL money, that's their choice, and if they decide to ever stop sending Frogster money, at least they can still play the game. Can't really say the same about WoW now can you? MMO games would be pretty cool if it weren't for the people. |

Originally posted by mackdawg19 Are u serious? That would not come close to being right, especially with whats priced on the cash shop. The price is fine, how else you think they are supposed to make cash? Money doesn't grow on trees, ya know. And before you say it could be cheaper, why? It's most likely the number 1 thing people will be purchasing, therefore better for it to be highly priced. In turn it will increase Frogsters cashflow. And that could lead to more increased updates and bigger expansions. To the OP: So if this is your reason not to play the game, then why are you trying to play a cash shop game. And one more thing, how do you know you can't get these items in-game? You don't, and no one else knows either. If mounts can drop off mobs, what else you think is on the loot table? Get over it! =)
Money does grow on trees. Just to clear this point. everything else I agree. |

so i take it NO ONE HAS PLAYED THE GAME. (yes, caps needed to be used for that part) If you want to respec your character, go do daily quests for a few days and save up for a respec stone.
if you want your gear to be plussed, go do daily quests for a few days and save up for your choice of stuff.
Yea, you have to grind, but in the end, your spending NO MONEY for what everyone is claiming is "uber broke" Phirius Coin shop people, they don't have perma mounts or house stuff, but it allows you to upgrade and use some of the cash shop stuff. in a couple more days, i can buy stones to make my weapon a +6 and i won't have to spend a dime |

I looked at their pricing on diamonds today. My freinds and I have a consisent full group of 6 players that play together all the time.. We can buy 2000 diamonds for $101..or $16.83 per person and each person gets 332 diamonds with 8 left to /random for. This breaks down to .05 per diamond....A NICKLE per diamond is not that much when I compare it to paying $14.99 per month for p2p game. 6 players with a 1 year sub fees for a p2p game would buy about 21,000 diamonds on this game or enough to respec our characters 105.5 times |

In this game, the cheapest option for renting a bank or inventory tab, is 80 diamonds for 6 months. And you have 8 tabs (4 inv. + 4 bank) per character. Per character, maxed out: 80 diamonds * 8 tabs = 640 diamonds = $32 = $5.33 per month I have 4 characters in this game, maxing them all out would cost $21.33 per month. (based on your price: $0.05 per diamond) This is storage only. I haven't talked at all about mounts and other "must-haves". I don't mind paying for a game that's actually worth paying for, but this could easily cost a huge amount of money. And knowing that keeps me completely away from the cash shop. I'll buy a few diamonds in-game for gold, but spending real money on this game is just silly, compared to P2P games and what you get for a regular monthly subscription. Btw, bad maths in your example: 2000 / 6 = 333 with 2 diamonds left. Not 332 with 8. |

Like every F2P I tried, making honest alts is very expensive. At the same time creating endless accounts as mules, bots or for free giveaways is unlimited and free to powerlevel. As if they wanted you to cheat them. Also as every F2P it ends up more expensive on average compared to P2P. They need to make more to make up for the instable income. Or in other words, you pay extra tax for the priviledge to decide when and how much you want to pay. No big issue with that until they start to make parts of game crap to sell more stuff. When it comes to decide between better game vs more money P2P goes one way and F2P the other. Well, most do. In the end, EvE online is probably the best model - there is limited option to play for free with subscription cards being tradeable in game and you can branch your main into alternate paths. It is way to special in all other aspects though. F2P really needs to get out of scamming mindset if they want to compete with P2P. RoM does not try at all and is run of the mill F2P scam scheme as far as cash shop goes. Btw: Do not come to F2P with "max" mindset. The ceiling is high to give you the freedom to pay as much as you wish (and in the end too much for what you are getting).
