i logged in today to finish a few quests..and i started feeling compleatly burnt out and utterly bored of this game..only after 4 months of playing after quitting for a year or two..im not sure if its just me, anyone else is feeling this way. mostly, this thread was made out of boredum, insomnia, and the fact its currently 3:14 AM where i am. i just dont see how WoW stay's on top..or how so many people can get "addicted" ...and its not like i even do that much, i play maybe enough to get two, three bars as a level 73 warlock..my 70 death knight seems to be even slower. could it just be a utter let down of northrend? i dunno..but i for one am seriously thinking about quiting for acouple months.

it could honestly be lack of modivation..when i came back, i was getting TBC in acouple months..so i was modivated to level, and get through to the classic stuff to get into outland, then when i got TBC, WOTLK was coming out the month after..so i was modivated enough to get to 70 before it came out so i could buy it and skip right to northrend and try the death knight...maybe the game is just looseing that new game smell, who knows...i might go back to city of villains, or dare i say....runescape.

It's why Blizzard can boast the numbers that they have. People like you are "bored" yet here you are. Not quitting.

"I don't like it anymore, but hell! I'll keep doing it."

What am I asking or saying is: why don't you quit, NOW?

In his case it is rather that some people just get tired after a playing for a while. I usually tire from any MMO after a year while some still play UO or EQ.

Sooner or later anything will feel boring (at least for most people) and it is time to move on... That doesn't mean that the game is bad or that it is something wrong with the OP, just move on.

Wow isn't the only game out there, OP. Some free trials usually liven things up.

Edit: OP, you can find WAR for $15 if you look around...

WoW usually loses its touch a month or 2 in, atleast after you get 80.

I take breaks here and there, keeps me from becoming one of those people around here that screams their hate for a game they over played or whatever it is that makes them bitter =)

I also jump between a few MMO's keeps them fresh for me =)

People. OK, it's time to realize it, WOW will eventually grow old as it is built on the good old stuff. It's a fantastic game, but... it's bound to get old sometime. I play AoC now, the dev team really pulled the game good together now and it's growing very nicely now. Join us. Found AoC boxes over in Play.com for redicolous 7.99 pound. www.play.com/Games/PC/6-/TopSellers.html Check it out.

This is a good answer.  Go play Warhammer or AOC for a month and you'll remember exactly why you play WOW.    I tried both AOC in May, and Warhammer in september while waiting for Wrath.  Both of them made me actually log into WOW even more than I would have without them.

I think a lot of problems people have with WOW is that they focus too much on 'progress' rather then just enjoing the content.  If you are staring at your EXP bar every time you turn in a quest, then yeah, it will become boring.   If you check how much honor you gained after every battleground, then yeah it will be boring.  Alternate the things you do.  Instead of questing for 4 hours, quest for 1,  do a battleground or 2, run an instance etc.  People tend to look for the 'next' goal, and then force themselves to do what is necessary to get to that goal repeatedly.  In your case, leveling.   Take a break from leveling, and earn some honor you will need at 80.  Or run some instances for stonekeeper's shards (you'll have to go win lake wintergrasp first).

If you are an ex-wow player and want to come back. Scroll of Rez gives 7 free days, boost a character to 80 a realm and faction change. Send me PM for an invite. Only 1 per day available

I have to admit after the newness if lich king is wearing off I too am finding myself burned out. They made it too easy to begin with, too much resembles The Burning Crusade including all the Boss encounters from what I am told from other raiders(I myself have not raided but 2 dungeons so far,I just cannot get motivated to do it any more).Wintergrasp to me sucks and waiting for timers for the next battle is lame. I think its time to start thinking about a new game to play and I am considering playing The Lord Of the Rings Online as my next venture.

I to am in a "burnt out" phase of WoW. I will play until my 60 day game card is up, get burnt then take a break. I have my next 60 day card ready to go whenever I'm ready to jump back in.

I play GW also and tend to enjoy that game more. It does help that I don't feel like I have to play it "now" to get my money's worth. However, I do know that I will plug in my next game card and enjoy WoW once again.

I think I will be doing the WoW rotation until GW2 comes out or if DF lives up to it's promises.

WoW has always been to easy... the reason people played EQ and UO for so long is because everything wasn't handed to you on a silver plater.. you didn't login and have gear delivered in your mail box... you didnt have XP handed to you... You had to work at it over a long amount of time and enjoy the adventure... having goals was fine and all, but it wasn't what the game was built around... Same for FFXI. those that play the game have been doing so for 3-5 years on average i'd say.  Just because a game has 11 million subs doesnt make it good... Just advertised the best.

WoW isnt that great.  It reinvints itself with eveyr expansion basically making all the content before the expansion pointless... Other games in the past didn't do that, and the content that was launched when FFXI first came out is still tackled by players today...  However thats good for our ADD generation.. WoW is never the best, just the best at what it does... Attracting NEW and Casual MMO Players.  In the mean time forgetting all of the players that made the MMO market what it was before WoW, and making everything "casual" friendly.

Easy to level yes. But the people in this thread are talking about high-end raid content. The high end raid content in WoW has always been amongst the hardest and best in any mmorpg. EQ's glorified tank and spank encounters dont impress me nor needing 2364327645327646752 people for a 1 boss that mmorpg's required. Getting 237462386752386752 people together should not be the challenge of a raid boss, the boss itself should be. There is a guild on my old realm that was one of the top EQ guilds in the world, Fires of Heaven, and aren't anywhere near that in WoW - not even the top of their realm. So much for EQ players being superior players.

What people are commenting on is that ALL raid content, bar Malygos and cheap tricks like 3 drake Sartharion, in WotLK is easy. When BC came out the raid content continued on the difficulty from the later bosses in AQ40 and lvl 60 Naxxramas - content which the vast majority of pre-BC players, and players new to BC, never saw. Which meant that when these players started pre-nerf karazhan in their lvl 70 blues and Gruul's Lair and Magtheridon they failed miserably while the pre-BC hardcore players progressed.

So thats the reason Blizzard has "reset" raiding in WotLK. Its designed so everyone can easily gear up and prepare for the rest of the content that will be released. Problem is that all the people that aren't terribad and awful (minority) in WoW are getting extremely bored. While Blizzard has levelled the playing field so everyone sees all the content, they now have to make content much quicker. With 95% of the money WoW makes being funnelled into Star Craft 2, Diable 3 and their new mmorpg, I dont think they have the resources to make content to keep people happy.

WoW is simply the best game ever. And will remain. Always fun, always something to do, great quests. If i become bored there is crafting which is art per se, .... And WOTLK is best upgrade ever for any game.

No, im not kid, im over 45, have tryed really many games in life ... wow is best package in every sense (not only mmorpg). At least imo and for my taste. Far behind is 2nd placed War, ... then even farther behind War comes AoC ... and then ... well, it does not matter.
