My God , what a lot of steaming crap. SWG a grindfest NOW?, No RP? I was accused of viral marketing previously, this thread must be the exact opposite. Pre CU was a grindfest- no arguement with that I presume. This incarnation is far from being a grindfest. As for RP there is more in this game than in all other mainline games put together. Come clean OP, have you tried this game? |

Shifting players over to servers with more bodies makes getting groups together easier. Of course you know that with typical lack of foresight, they'll let all these players shift around, but won't have conducted any planet wide building clean up's to allow those players to form they're own cities etc..... |

They are doing a house packup event again AFTER the server transfer so the new people on a server have a chance to get a city if they want to. Our guild already has secured a city that will meet our needs before the transfer (level 3) that will be able to rank up once the house pack up is completed. My point is anyone on the lower populated servers can move from Jan 13th to March 31st for free, no one has to stay on a "empty" server unless they want to. That said there are some guilds that will stay on my server (Naritus) after the server transfer, I assume they never PvP, have enough people (8) to do any of the instances and like a no lag enviroment. |

I was there for the first house clean up. For whatever reason I started a day after everyone else and couldn't find a single building to blow up even though there were still plenty of empty buildings all over. Maybe now that even MORE time has gone by the building maint. accounts will have finally run down and this one will. I still think that unless SOE just packs up every building on all the planets and sticks them in the owners inventories to allow a fresh start it just won't work. Of course that would be akin to them saying those players won't be coming back and that's something they don't want to face. |

I consider the heroics and other quests to be PvE content. |

I consider the heroics and other quests to be PvE content. So assuming the eight people are actually able to run all the cookie-cutter dungeons so that everybody gets all the loot. Then what? They just log on and look at all the empty houses? |

You continuously refer to the instances as "cookie-cutter." What, exactly, do you mean? So I started to walk into the water. I won't lie to you boys...I was terrified. But I pressed on, and as I made my way past the breakers, a strange calm came over me. I don't know if it was divine intervention or the kinship of all living things, but I tell you, Jerry, at that moment ... I was a marine biologist. |

Last I heard the community was being told that it was "too hard" to fix. |

Originally posted by joojoo1975 For sure if you want to try to role-play a jedi during the game's alleged time-period, this game is a real dissappointment. When I first started, jedi were extremely rare. We didn't know how to become one, and almost never saw one around. For role-play purposes that was cool. Unfortunately, the original unlock system was very rushed and uninspiring. It was more or less a profession grind. The reason it was so unimaginative, according to the guy who designed it, was that he did the whole thing in 3 weeks. Well, some people in focus groups (non-players actually) didn't like the idea of working hard to try to become a jedi. We're told they wanted to be able to choose to be one immediately upon entering the game. So, this was implemented at the same time as the uninspiring legacy quest you mention. Interestingly enough, the same guy who came up with the original jedi unlock grind in 3 weeks, was only given 3 months to revamp the entire game from a sandbox RPG into a linear shooter. The solution to the "linear" plan was the rushed, and monotonous legacy quest. It was/is indeed just go out and kill 10 random dudes, go back to contact, go out and kill 10 more dudes in a small structure (if you're lucky), go back to contact etc. etc.. When it was implemented, it was also broken. So if the boredom didn't get you, the frustration would when you couldn't complete your quests. Apparently the quests work now, but I'm told they're still as boring as ever. It would have been nice to see what the original development team could have come up with if they weren't pushed into releasing things that simply weren't done yet, or that they didn't have time to make interesting. The original game foundation had so many amazing possibilities. Rather than realize these, however, upper management seemed to keep searching for a new vision for the game. Each new vision never seemed to give the devs a chance to get it right. The skill system was amazing, I think, and content like the corvette missions was really excellent. I also loved the geonosian cave and death watch bunker. If the original team had the time and resources to keep building on these things, I think the game would have been revolutionary. |

Musty instances are fixed for entry as of a long time ago. No two instances are the same, you can't use the same tactics and expect to "win". I am not aware of a single bug in Hoth and it is a blast to do, no one who I have been in the instance with ever has said it was not fun. It plays exactly like the movie down to Leia's pep talk to the pilots, and seeing Han, Leia and 3PO run down a hall to get to the falcon and more.

The only one I wasn't able to finish was the star destroyer because every time my group zoned in the mobs bugged out and multiplied so we had hundreds of elites swarming around preventing us from going anywhere. So I guess you could say *that* one was different... |
