Sounds ok to me. Real risk so people don't run to town and taunt others under guards protection. It is what it is. Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL! |

I mainly made this thread because some kept on saying that Full Loot PvP was no big deal because gear would be easy to replace. They were saying that it would only take you a little bit to get back up and running again. They were saying that you just go to your Bank and get your spare... and you are set.
Well... I think that Tasos' comments make it perfectly clear that there WILL be some items that get looted from you that WILL hurt. They will take a LONG, LONG, time to replace. There will indeed be a very nasty sting to loosing some items.
That was the point. Some items (Towns, Ships, Rare Dungeon loot, etc.) are going to be very, very, costly and will take a very long time with many people to accrue enough resources to build them or find them. IF those items get looted from you... IT WILL HURT... A LOT!

You guys are reading to much into it. Read it abit more lightely and itll read that you can take town away from players but not by lootin, hes just declaring that any thing that is owned can be lost in general. Thats my guess made from some common sense. Its a bit strangely put since he start the talk with looting other players, but the most resonable outcome can only be that in the end hes broadening his perspective saying that not only can you lose whats on you, but your towns and boats to if you dont guard them.
Each to his own i guess, if there was a deed (that be stupid heh) the owners would put it in a bank, or if that wasnt an option give it to an alt that never logged in or very rarely logged in in places no enemies would be. If only the guildleader can have it, they will put the alt as guildleader in many occasions just to circumvent a stupid deed thing that will be lost the next time the leader dies. Similar things are being done in EvE for waaaay less reasons (comparing to a single card giving you a town item).
No, no common sense tells me Tasos is mentioning loosing cities to expand on the full loot theme. FagerCraft - Feeding the trolls on mmorpg.com since 2005. |

Originally posted by maxstone YES... I AGREE! Hopefully, that item will be allowed to be put in the Bank. That is a follow-up question that I wished they had asked. Can every item that can be looted be put into your Bank? Obviously there will be limitations on the amount of items a person can store... but hopefully, there will not be limitations on what kind of items can be stored there. If it can looted from your body... you should be able to place it in your Bank.
With Tasos' statement on the bigger War Ships taking weeks to build with many resources and many people... that would be another item that I'd be very cautious taking out of the Bank.
Obviously there WILL be some items that are going to hurt quite a bit if they are taken from you. It will be interesting to see how the current generation of MMO players adapts to this.
They probably won't aside from the people actually playing Darkfall....Darkfall will probably only be a niche game, not a revolution in the industry. Thank God, it'll sit for the typical 18-24 month life-cycle all niche games seem to run, then it will close.
you my friend have no clue... EVE has only been running for 18-24 months and is going no where right? WRONG there are people who WANT this type of game... I've been dieing for a Fantasy based game like this... While I love EVE i'm not a SCI-FI person. I always said if a fantasy game came out i'd be gone.. This is it... There will be plenty of us who pay to play if the game holds up to its part of the deal. There is nothing wrong with what EVE has and absolutley nothing wrong with being a niche market and 200k subscribers... CCP is doing great, i'm sure if adventurine does what they say they are going to, they will make enough money to make themselves happy and their hopeful fans. |

Good, and it should hurt... otherwise whats the point of PvP... BRING IT ON! P.S. I play EVE and am very use to full loot pvp and find no other way to PvP worth my time. |
