I have to commend you on a great post that is actually discussion. You aren't seeking an arguement and you aren't trying to discredit anyone else for their opinions. That being said, I REALLY hope that they will have a north american server. I mean the fattest nation on earth needs to have a good local server. I haven't read any replies to your post so i really hope this hasn't turned into a trollfest. |

Even though I live in NA and would be bummed if they limited my ability to play on the European server... IF the server space is limited... Europeans SHOULD get preference... it's their server afterall. The same SHOULD hold true once the NA region gets their own server.
One thing that hasn't been made clear is if they will be doing any character transfers once the NA server does finally launch. With so much unknown about how long it will take to get the NA server up and running, and IF they will do character transfers... it has led to some of the angst that the NA players are expousing on the official forums. Hopefully there will be some more information on this issue forth-coming from Tasos. |

It even has a large warning at the top of page saying it's going to checked for accuracy. Lets all just make new definitions for words up as we feel like it to suit our agenda. |

Ah yes, because UrbanDictionary.com is so much more accurate and reliable than wikipedia... Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic |

Those definitions and the examples they gave are what the average person thinks of when mentioning vaporware.

If your definition was the common usage then it would be at the top rather than not even listed. Real definitions in actual dictionaries are made in the same way, by linguists researching how people use language. |

You're just upset because you don't want the "trolls" to be right about something, and don't want anything negative being said about your precious game. Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic |

I do like Urban Dictionary's voting method for the definitions though. It at least gives you some sense of what a number of other users think on the matter.
www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/vaporware This is what Merriam-Webster has to say on the subject:
: a computer-related product that has been widely advertised but has not and may never become available
So... who wants to take up the "widely advertised" semantics for the next 3 pages?

10,000 regular players = 5 journalists from the UK Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL! |

Well they aren't right are they? Everyone who said that this game was vaporware was saying it in the sense that it was never going to release, and they and everyone else knows it. It's funny how all these alternative definitions spring up now it looks like it will release, it's just an attempt to save face by the naysayers. |

Every MMO should follow what WoW did with their servers. Do you honestly think that WoW took as long as they did because of limits in ability or funds? Hell no!. They kept the servers and amount of people that these servers could hold limited for a reason, to keep the hype going. Most people's train of thought will be - If all the game servers are full, and you are in que to log in then the game must be great if there isn't nay normal time a person can log on. Once the hype generates enough revenue to complete open another server for basically free (meaning the sales pay for a each new server to open making the monthly basically completly profit) then a new server will be opnened and this porcess will continue. Furthermore, with a limited player base, more people won't expereince the begining bugs that every MMO has due to not being able to play the game much, further increasing the percieved value of the game. Its a great biz tactic.

But right now, it is. And that's a fact no matter what definition you use until the game is ACTUALLY released. "There is as yet insufficient data for a meaningful answer." |

<modedit> No different than Tasos making the assinine proclamation of having "3 million followers". The good thing about having a 10,000 player max server is it will never lag with the 50 people playing it. |
