I think you should check this out.
www.file.net/process/matrix.exe.html A quote from that thread that stands out for me: "Active Background and Screensaver. Doesn't appear to be harmfull. Crystal Reports doesn't like it though, so I would disable it if your doing graphics intensive work. Like with charts and graphs and stuff." End of quote. Btw graphic intensive work would also include running graphic intensive games. Don't know if you can run it? |

You should check out the Runes of Magic Forums for help. I remember a few threads there about it.

The process Screen Locker or matrix belongs to the software Matrix Screen Locker or ZMatrix by BaroufaSoft or Happy Dude. Description: File matrix.exe is located in a subfolder of "C:\Program Files". Known file sizes on Windows XP are 488448 bytes (40% of all occurrence), 106496 bytes, 114688 bytes. Important: Some malware camouflage themselves as matrix.exe, particularly if they are located in c:\windows or c:\windows\system32 folder. Thus check the matrix.exe process on your pc whether it is pest. We recommend Security Task Manager for verifying your computer's security. It is one of the Top Download Picks of 2005 of The Washington Post and PC World.
In other words find the matrix.exe, even thought it may well just be an old screen saver it's still an annoyance. Don't know if you can run it? |
