No mouse support for the 360. But you can use the chatpad or a keyboard for typing.

The game is very action rpg orientated.  You can use a keyboard but the game is faster paced for moving and attacking that is easier to acomplish with the 360 pad connected to your pc. The guys that make this game play with a 360 pad.

Ah right, may be something to think about in that case.

Played: WoW, Lotro, AoC, Eve, CoX.
Shortly be playing: WAR and champions if the release date holds.

I am definitely getting it on the PC, just because I think it is easier to do just about everything on it, also don't have to pay for that Xbox Live.

You can use keyboard and mouse on the 360 for games, but only through an expensive 3rd party piece of hardware.

So, yes, PC is still better for keyboard and rodent, but it's not impossible on consoles.

But I'm not sure why I should have to chose between PC and 360... shouldn't I, as a paid Subscriber, be permitted to play on my account regardless of which system I use?  I would think that they'd let me log in from both as long as my account was valid.

Then they won't make double profit off you, and that would be bad.

Look at FFXI. You have to have seperate accounts and payments for each hardware version.

Think they'll seperate the servers to "PC Servers" and "360 Servers"?

That'd be interesting...

I don't think they'll have a big enough base on the console, frankly. They'll probably combine the consoles and PC base together.

Don't understimate the console online userbase. There are a load of people playing FFXI on 360, and the Phantasy Star Universe Xbox360 version are quite populated. In fact, the 360 version of PSU has about three times the amount of players the PC version has

Cryptic have said there is no technical reason why Xbox 360 and PC players can't play on the same servers, but Microsoft Xbox QA processes might stop this from happening (MS QA adds another level of complexity to getting patches through). It was SOE that was finding merging PS3 and PC on the same server difficult.

Provided there is VOIP in game, communicating shouldn't be too difficult. Also, I think there will be a surprising number of Xbox 360 owners playing ChampO, given that you don't need gold membership to play online.

XBox 360, I'm done with PC games and console seems to be the future for any kind of game. What I'm wondering is if there'll be a monthly fee for the 360 even if you have a gold membership?

Well, yes, that's definitely the case now.  It wasn't at launch.  When PSU first went live, judging by the number of open instances of areas, the PC/PS2 version was many times more populated.  I'd say the switch only happened because the PC version was such a massive bungle.  Not only was it a clumsy port which displayed numerous technical serious issues and a UI entirely unacceptable for a modern PC game, but the one thing the average user has no stomach for is widespread cheating, especially when they're paying a subscription fee.

Cryptic, on the other hand, actually has some experience creating at least competent PC MMORPG's, so while I'm sure the game will have flaws, I don't think there will be any _glaring_ deficiencies like the PC/PS2 version of PSU.

That said, the mere lack of variety on the 360 in this genre probably means that Champion will be the best MMORPG on the system once it launches, unless Cryptic completely botches this.  So we may see many 360 players because of this.  In fact, people don't realize this, but if Cryptic actually launches a successful, AAA-quality MMORPG on the 360, it could potentially catapult the studio into 2nd place in terms of overall US market share.  I say "if" because we've seen this promise before (AoC, anyone?) and had it fall apart.

However, even if there are very few 360 players ultimately, it may not matter if that small number is placed on their own servers.  Call me a cynic, but I'm betting this game will be 70% cloned from CoX, in terms of overall design.  CoX, if you recall, was designed around servers with very low population numbers.  The player density simply wasn't meant to be that high.  Past the first year on Virtue, arguably the most populated server for the second half of the game's life, you rarely saw more than one instance of the most populated (newbie) zones.  Most people in CoX today don't even realize that the game automatically creates multiple instances of overworld zones once one becomes "overly" populated.

What are you talking about expensive 3rd party hardware I used a 15 dollar USB keyboard on my 360 when I played Final Fantasy 11 on it.

1. Pre-ordering

2. PC if it can handle the graphics.  Xbox if it can't.

IDK...  I'm just partial to PC.  I had a 360, but sold it in less than a year.

I really want to play a mmo from my xbox just becuase I know it will out perform my old computer. But I can't shake the feeling that Xbox Live will be more expensive with them adding a price tag to all their downloadable content. I don't know what the priceing plan will be for either so I'm not sure yet wich I will choose. My worst fear is the xbox will have a $15/mo. fee on top of my live subscription and make me pay ms points for every game update that might otherwise be free to pc users.

Champions on the PC is the only way to play it.

reason:  Microsoft is the uber scammer and you as a gamer or the victim.  It will cost more for the user and more for the publisher to have this on the xbox 360.

I own a 360, have an annual subscription to Xbox Live and own about 12-13 retail games for it.  People need to wake the fuck up and realize how terrible of a service MS is providing - it's like, all of a sudden you have to start paying taxes on the air you breathe and you get a surcharge for every X number of steps you take in the new shoes you just purchased.

edit:  I meant to say "I used to have an annual subscription to Xbox Live".

How is xbox live handling final fantasy servers?  Given the headaches xbox players had with TF2, I'd imagine it would be a bit painful/awkward to have combined servers outside of MS's scope of control.

As long as console games are created on a PC (even if they're never ported to the PC) I don't see any paradigm shifts happening anytime soon; especially for games that have any modicum of depth.

I'll be trying it on the PC, seeing as I haven't owned a console since the Nintendo 64. The game is aesthetically pleasing, for me; just hope the game isn't shallow.

I doubt Microsoft would handle this game any different than FFXI. Probably just require a basic account.

If the game is any good but is a little faulty in the controls I don't have any trouble plugging in a 360 controller into my PC. I don't even own a 360 but I quite enjoy the controller. :)

This is releasing on xbox360?  If its the same game on xbox and PC, then its going to be a light mmorpg and not for me.

Once again, you can not play a true mmorpg on a console.
