I think they need to wait a couple of months for people to renew subscriptions before they declare it a success. It seems SOE deems short term financial gain using smash and grab tactics a success, despite obvious longterm penalties and having thier name dragged through the swill once again. Smedley just seems to be set on having RMT, and if that means people quit he doesn't care since his new target audience will fill the space. However with EQ 1/2 being a P2P at the sametime I don't see how that is possibile. A game is either P2P or F2P with a cash shop, Smed has created a new catagorey P2P with RMT and TCG. Maximizing profit for the minimum effort, all paid for by the subscriber .... Gotta love that Smedley!

Success for SOE = 4 kids using parents cred cards to buy that fluffadupagus virtual item. Either give us F2P + Item shop OR a purely subscription MMO - cannot have both! |

I'm sure some of these wussbags will buy many items and destroy EQ completely until every item is just available from the marketplace. Luckily I'll remember EQ as something nice, not the disgrace it is now because my account runs out in a few days. |

Ah the irony of Mr "AAA" grimwell of putting out messages about how to improve their cash shop... All those years of babbling about what makes a great MMO and whats a good idea and whats not....now reduced to this. Oh well.

I don't see why all the fuss about this, just seems like another people QQ about without really understanding RTM.
Until they fuck with the balancing of the game, and most of the stuff is vanity, there is no reason to bitch about any RTM in any game. |

I found the thread you took this from and I cannot find those 2 comments after the origonating post....I don't think this is fake or anything because I know the players hate the cash shop but how can this be explained...

Not difficult to explain really, SOE moderators frequently delete numerous posts on a daily basis. They do so without leaving the original post as a way of pretending that no one ever posted anything overly negative :) |

I too just returned to EQII last month with The Shadow Odyssey Expansion, and I was planning on playing for a few months, but with this BS RMT crap laid upon us with no warning is horrible. I canceled my account immediately.
....and here Sony was starting to slowly win me back since I'd found a new enemy in Funcom...heh |

Lol, more flat out lies from SOE. 3 pages of suggestions from the same 6 people, compared to 30+ pages of angry people agaisnt station cash and are quitting over it. How much station cash for SOE to stop spewing lies? |

I too won't be re-subbing, this is the final straw, the game was way too easy anyway lets be honest, as they say in Monty python "Run away"!!!! Community is awful, solo play rules, its a single player game with some unusualy ignorant npcs anyway, I hope to see you all in a new game soon , be it DF or COS or whatever. just remember to interact with eachother (pk counts /laugh) leave soe to its asian roots(never did like soga) and its "buy your look" BS now. I hope a game comes out that is made for players who want some kind of a challenge, until then I am done with the genre, the current crop are shit, nuff said!

omigosh someone can pay 10 bucks for 4 hours of bonus exp! this totally ruins the game! Don't forget those vanity pets, and appearance items. Or how about those long cd "potion accessories" Wait a second guys. That guys non-combat pet just wtfpwned me!
Seriously though, stop having a kneejerk reaction to this. If you truely were liking the game, then you wouldn't leave over something so trivial. "It's a change in game philosophy!" Really now. 50% bonus exp for 4 hours for 10 bucks is the most "game breaking" issue here. And really is it that bad? How much exp can you get in 4 hours? Enough for 10 bucks? practically a entire months subscription cost. If someone wanted to chain these to level all the way to max, it'd be costing them a fortune. In all truths, if you quit over this, you frankly just were tired of the game, and are looking for any excuse to leave. Heck i love WoW, if they added a system to buy loot with money, guess what? I wouldn't care. Why? because if bob q public gets his costly items, and i get my raid items, we both can sitll play together and have fun.
You can say "this leads to terribads". No. No it does not. What leads to terribads are just bad players. Right now, give me a character in WAR WoW AoC EQ2 max level of a class i've never played before, in less then 5 hours i'll be good enough that you'll never even know i never played it. But theres plenty of people who have leveled, have done dungeons, have raided, have pvp'd, have quested, and have basically PLAYED THE CRAP, out of the game, are STILL TERRIBAD. I'd never buy stuff from a cash shop, nor would i participate, but frankly, I don't need to get some sort of validation from my games. It's why people stopped liking wow. Because now that everyone can get a shot to get some content, and get to progress.(even if it's 100x slower than them) they no onger can be like HAI GUYS I GOTZ MEH EPICS and get responses from everyone ZOMG YOU SO COOL I LUV YOUR ARMOR!!! CAN I JOIN YOUR GUILD and they /flex /dance and all the crap in town all day just showing off their gear.

I'm sick and tired of SoE. I haven't had much experience with them but their blatant lies are impossible to ignore. As a result I am uninstalling every SoE game I have installed on my PC. Boycotting is the only way to get our voices heard. |

Originally posted by Bladin and it's not so much the items that they included as it is the fact that despite blatantly saying that there would be no cash shop in any form for Everquest, they included one now. I refuse to play a game by a company that can lie to its customers so easily. |

SOE is just a big ol barrel of laughs if you ask me. Unless they jump ship and make EQ a full MT game I'm gonna be jumping ship as well. If your going to have MT fine, but at least take my subscription fees away..Especially if Station Cash is doing SOO well..
