You know, there is the saying "you never got a 2nd chance to make a first good impression". Being the nice guy I am I usually give people as well as games 2nd chances. But truth be told, usually our first judgement is as right as it ever gets. Its more hope or want to belief that makes me try out again.

In WAR it was an entire waste of time. And money. When I started WAR first I was quite delighted and enjoying it, but as with many around level 20 the fun started to dwindle a lot. I played only two chars to 30-something, an elf and a human, so I could not be too burned out by the content. However, now I have tried out the Knight a bit, it was surely an ok class, but nothing of the overpower some said. Pretty normal class imo, more or less as good as any other in WAR. Which mean, underwhelming.

The new class is just as simplified as every single part of the game. I really started to feel boredom already after an hour playing it, even tho I had left the game almost 2 months ago, or so.

Its like when you meet your ex, the former boy/girl of your dreams, and ever so often, when time has passes, you look at him/her and wonder, how you EVER, EVER could have loved him/her!? And so it was with WAR. Kinda. Ok I never LOVED WAR, but I liked it a lot, I had fun for quite some time, but now, after two days of gaming I felt so BORED, so WORN out of this unbelievable simplified game play... I cant say how I ever enjoyed playing this game.

I must really point out that I am chronic returner; often I return and try out MMOs again, and almost everytime I at least enjoy it a few weeks. Only VERY old MMOs, like SWG or CoH, when I returned I was bored after such a short time, but usually with games I had played years. Warhammer is just an incredibly dull and boring game, now with a certain emotional distance, when I am above the waves of hype and disappointment, I sincerly feel WAR is one of the most boring, dull, repetitive MMOs I have seen for a LONG time, maybe THE most boring of all AAA titles. Its not that something is totally borked, but I totally feel zero urge to explore the world, to make a 2nd life in this game or whatever you want to call it. It just bores me to death. *shrug* I really tried to enjoy it, trust me. But this MMO really is in my perspective the failure of the decade. Even plagued MMOs like Vanguard or AoC had at least some decend fun stuff. WAR just plays like rationally designed lackluster stuff from people who really didnt care at all about it. Its so terribly sterile and dull. No offense to those who enjoy it, its just how I feel about it.

Damn man, I just resubbed just now aswell (5 minutes ago) and I had the same thoughts as you. If I've already left not much could hold me in again. Though I really want to try out this 1.1. Maby not really so much because I thought it sound so extravagant or special but I want to see Mythic's caliber! I want to see what they have done so I can see once again how much hope I shall have for the future of me being able to fully enjoy this game 100%

Wow this is exactly how I felt... after playing World of Warcraft! Game was so boring and grindy and I just couldn't get myself to play more than an hour straight.

Well that's one of the great things in life, each person has it's own tastes.

I find WAR extremely fun and I'm always surrounded by a bunch of people be it during oRvR (in abundance after 1.1a), scens, PQ's, dungeons...

My alt is rank 23 and I must have done maybe 5-10 solo quests only lol.

My main gripe with this game is performance in big battles, but seeing the way Mythic go about their game and judging by the recent patches, I don't think it's going to take long for them to fix it.

I can't understand how someone could feel bored in a game where he barely plays alone but hey, to each his own!

Have fun in whatever game you're playing/ might play in the future .

Heh, trying again after just 3 months? Way too short time for a game to change.

Maybe you'll never like WAR, maybe you should just wait until it is at least 6 months old, preferably a year.

It takes some time to change a game around, if you didn't like a game at launch you are not gonna like it just 3 months after.

Give it a try again next summer, if it won't work out then the game is not for you at all. Taste differs as usual, and everyone don't like the same games.

I could not disagree with you more.  But hey, if you dont like the game you dont like it.  Not sure what coming here and trolling/whining is going to get you.  I love the game, I was willing to give Mythic a chance to make changes and update it and I am very happy with the latest patch.  Good luck finding a MMO you do enjoy, we all know there are alot out there, pick one and be happy.  I did.

I still have a active WAR account as well and came back to check out 1.1 and I was impressed. Still I think I am burning out on MMORPG's in general. But I found WAR to be more entertaining, its definetly the PvP action part of it that draws me to the game.

I think I just need a break from the fantasy mmorpgs and revert to my original status of a Call of Duty player and a Eve Junkie. hehe

Dang,

If this game passes 1 million people, I hope it doesn't turn into another WoW: A huge population game that's boring. Then again if this game passes 1 million people.

Ok nvm I hope it doesn't

The point is, this was a terrible game, I hated Warhammer so much. Everytime (2X a day) I think about returning to Warhammer I realize after level 20: The scenarios and quests are as boring as hell. And the RvR is stupid, plain stupid.

If only you found the WAR forums as boring so as you would not return here as well.

It's funny, I pre-orderd and got the early access to the game, and my thoughts were very similar. I initially thought "Wow this is really really fun!" But by the time my Shadow Warrior got to around level 12, I could already tell that I had seen most of what the game was going to offer, and that the game was really fun when it was new, but got really old really fast, so I didn't buy the full version. And alas, a couple weeks later, I started seeing the exact complaints I predicted during the early access.

Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic
Played: SWG, Guild Wars, WoW
Playing: Eve Online, Counter-strike
Loved: Star Wars Galaxies
Waiting for: Earthrise, Guild Wars 2, anything sandbox.

I beta tested and I just canceled my sub.  It ran out today actually.  I'm going to wait a little bit and maybe go back in a few months.  I'm not going to lie something flashy needs to happen for me to go back.  Maybe those classes...or the cities, ultimately something needs to happen.

My name is Pam and I have a fishing problem.

Try Atlantica Online. Best MMO ever. You can actually challenge other players to PvP and place bets on who will win.

Well even though Mythic would love 100% of the people to love their game, it just not going to happen. Every mmo game has its fans and also the players that dont like it.

People that posts messages like this never really state what game their going back to or if any at all.

Its just funny seeing people state, well folks, I am out of here, WAR wasnt for me, I am heading back to Dark and Light, or better yet, my xbox 360 seems to be calling me.

After playing at release, I found the game to be a fair entertainment value, thats all. The amount of fun in Warhammer was about the same amount as a lot of asian grinder games I've played waiting for other games. Games like Archlord, Perfect World, Silkroad Online etc were about as fun as this one.

There was nothing that I would look forward to doing in Warhammer while I was offline. Some games while at school, work or wherever, you'd think about what you'd like to do when you go home and log on. Craft, farm, finally figured out a quest (you think), fish, etc. That was the weird thing about Warhammer: at no time did I ever think "Ok, I can't wait to log on and try X out or do Y." It was a game where everything was just.. snoring me to death. Being in a scenario was just as fun as doing a PQ, or doing a quest or trying to stir up trouble with the Destro side. It was all the same amount of slowness. The bugs didn't bother me as much as I saw them in lots of games. There just wasn't a fun factor.

When I left that was the main reason. I see some people leave for bugs, lag, scenario burnout, class balancing and the like. Most of those things never killed it for me. The general feeling was like having tickets to a concert of a band you don't really like, but don't hate either. If the lead singer fell and broke his leg cancelling the show, you'd yawn and go see a movie.

There was so much talk about "The Sacred Patch" coming out and fixing everything. When I looked at the patch notes, I didn't see anything other than the release of two classes that would have got my interest. The other things done were technical which was needed, but they wouldn't have added fun to the game. Playing a new class can sometimes make a game fun for a short time, but in the end, the content is the same. If the game was slow and boring before, a patch cannot fix the fun element. I think people came back so soon because there just isn't anything else out now that people can say "that looks good".

I'd have to agree you probably would go with your first instincts about most things. I had the feeling that although the box still looks good on my bookshelf, it will probably stay there. By the time they got around to getting something fun in there, I would already be playing DF, Aion, Mortal, TCoS, or any number of new titles out.

Sorry it didn't work out for you Elikal, but you were right about first instincts.

you didnt enjoy the game.  I love it.  The game is what a PVP MMO should be.  And as far as the most recent patch, it was a RVR game changer.  there is so much to do in WAR, it is almost comical you talk about fishing and farming.  LOL, FISHING and FARMING.  I would much rather do RVR, PQ, exploring, scenarios, questing, or a dungeon crawl...Dont act like WAR doesnt have plenty to do because it does.  And with WAR, you jump right in and can do all of it starting at level 1.  Again, you didnt like the game, plenty of us do.  May I suggest you find something you enjoy doing with your time, other then hanging out on the forums of a game you dislike ?  For your own well being, get over it, move on, find something to do with your life that interests you.

Nice..seriously who didn't expect this from the OP? He's been vocal about his dislike for the game before even launch.   Its realy not a surprise that he doesnt like WAR but it is rather trollish for him to continously post here with negatives and half truths etc.  Its pointless Tyvolus1 to flame anyone that agrees with him every game has haters some aren't even up to date with their hate which just makes them fun to laugh at.

Seriously can we close this thread while we have a chance or can we just point n laugh? rofl

I wanted to like WAR... I LOVED DAOC back in the day but, unfortunately, I just can't get into WAR. I find it relatively boring and slow paced, I also don't like the character models at all for the most part. The few models I do like have atrocious class/skill choices and turn me off that way.

IMO DAOC, while it's graphics aren't as 'new' is a better game. I may even wind up re-subbing to that one.... again... I just wish it had a bigger population.

It's not like I didn't give it a chance either. I played it for a bit at the tail end of beta and even bought it retail and played for a month or so to try to get into it. But no matter what I tried I just couldn't enjoy the game. It's got some nice features and ideas.... it just doesn't 'hook' me...

I resubed also and have left.  Other then crafting im not sure what makes this game boring.  I could never find a class that I like seemed to be my issue. I wanted so much to love this game but could never find any depth.  The only thing that keeps me coming back is the large battles but most poeple dont understand its not about killing the other person but also doing the objectives.

Yes, the game is fun the first 1-2 tiers, after that it goes downhill.

The only fun, I get playing out of this, is playing different chars each time, level it to 10-20, then delete it.

You just can't beat that fast paced RvR feeling in T1, the rest of the tiers is just well.....blah.

Unless in your server, you have two competent and competing alliances that are willing to duke it out in T4, in game as well as in forums, then the game is just, well, plain boring.
