Dark side, myself. I just love the concept of the dark side over the light side, and I love how both sides of the arguement are proven invalid; holding in your emotions with the force (ala light side) only leads to destruction, while using your emotions with the force (ala dark side) leads to the same outcome. One of my favorite viewpoints from KOTORII was Kreia's viewpoint, and that being that the force in general was just a force of evil, which makes perfect sense when you think about the entire story as a whole. Something that no other piece from the SWs franchise ever really discussed this, and I hope this game gives a good amount of philosophy to light side / dark side like they did with KOTOR I and II. I'm also hoping greatly that our choices within the game do actually effect us someway or another, not like AoC where you can click whatever the hell you like and get the same story.

I plan on having both sides really, But my main character will be on the Light side.

Figure they will have seperate powers for each side.

I'm going light side on my first play, but I will also play a dark side character.

This game will have different stories to every class, so the replay value seems well above average

Dark or light? I thought this was supposed to be the 32 class, 18 profession game everyone was waiting for since  the NGE??

if it is like kotor, heres a easy way to decide...

Dark: more agresive, all power house. Has force moves that unleash destruction, force lightning, choke, throw..etc. have force buffs, that will increase damage highly, but damaging somthing else of yours (defense or hp.) Force damage increase, Light saber increase, Crit increase, etc.. .          [ In Other Words, Get Over here.. And... DIE!]

(defense low, and heal, life drain possible tho)

Light: more Defensive, All QQ dont hurt the lil bug. Has force moves that heal, increase a atribute or another type thing. Has force buffs, that increase defense, max hp, evade, speed. usually short lasting.

[In Other words, CATch Me if U can, if u can hit me, or even break through my barrier. even tho i have low damage, i survive longer ]

(defense, speed, and heals high, damage low_ yet possible to get some force atack and increase)

Was This lil review , UnBiased. i hope so. wouldn't want to affect peoples decision on being bias towards my side.

Personally for my main I will probably stay away from both Jedi and Sith. I will probably pick a class that is considered weak by the masses and make people see the true "use" of that class. I always enjoy that in an MMO. I will most likely try out both the Jedi and Sith paths as alts. though. Too much fun to pass up I would imagine.

my inner sith is screaming to cut a bloody swath across the universe, sweeping all forms jedi corruption to the dark corners of hell. mercy and compassion allow beings too weak to defend themselves to live, defying the natural order and therefore defying the very nature of the force. the jedi must be stamped out without question for the protection of every living being on every world spinning.

build a jedi a fire..he will be warm for a night. light a jedi on fire..he will be warm for the rest of his life.

For people not wanting to join  jedi's

\~ Neutral classes will be avalble, as well as other range, and melee classes. capable of mass damage and both sides will have some similar too. you dont typically have to be a jedi. (think of the rebellion VS the empire. including the bounty hunters, and gangsters)

also dark and light. will have variations of force using. like healing, DoT's, buffers, melee, magic.

By a hunch. Im going to  guess.  and be 80% positive, its going to use this system.

Everybody Starts a neutral. between no side.  Now, when u do missions depending on what you accept to say, and act to. will change u between those. (Now, also.) u dont get to be a jedi/sith at first.  to be one of those first you need a side. and after doing missions and all to get a side, you do not have to be a jedi/sith.

~example.

you could be a warrior, a assassin, a soldier/ sniper  type thing.

... also these classes are avaible to neutral. and mainly neutral only. i would say they would make a class like "Bounty Hunter" avaible to the neutral, that will have jet packs and stuff (Like Jango Fett/ Bobba Fett)

Think of the extended lore where Jedi tapped into the darkside to try to fullfill a good purpose. If we can do things like that, as they seem to have indicated, it will be very cool. Imagine a person who falls to the darkside and works for the Republic and does all kinds of devious and murderous things behind the scenes in order to defeat the Sith.

I'm more of a darksider myself but I hope force users are not too overpowered. I want to see bounty hunters, smugglers, or whatever classes they have,  to be competitive. It would even be ok if a bounty hunter has to exercise a measure of tactics and skill to beat a jedi, I just want it to be possible instead of knowing an 8 year old on a Jedi will always win by tapping a few buttons.

to that... i know bioware is new at mmo. but i think they will strive for balance. and not to mention we dont even know the mechanics of how the game will work. will it be like kotor but a lil faster paced? will it have somthing for left click light saber powers, right click force?

and for striving balance. i think bioware will try to make where no class is extermly powerful then the other. except by the default changes (Level, and Gear)

Christmas has changed my mind. The world deserves rather to have Sith, so dark side from now on for me.

Hm, the idea in your sig sounds interesting enough. Defending the Republic, but not being confined by the narrow views of the Jedi... Fascinating idea. :)
