If Darkfall is even HALF as good as I have been reading, this will be the best MMORPG since the 1999 version of Everquest. I hope, I really hope that the game will not be bug ridden and that the community will be nice like in EQ2.
I miss the original EQ "vision" I hope Darkfall will bring it back where others tried and failed **cough**Vanguard**cough**

My thoughts exactly.... Darkfall won't be like EQ. It's geared for PvP, not a epic PvE story based game.

If Darkall delivers it is offering a ton of things that EQ offered that have been sorely missing over the last few years. True it is a PVP based game but I and i think many other EQers want to give it a try because it does bring back those things that we have been missing.

And actually that is wrong. Also EQ was not a story based game. There were no long quest lines that taught you things or took you to places. You started life in a pair of pants with a rusty sword and said "Hmm, guess i should go kill something", there was no guy standing there waiting to tell you why your here and what you should be doing. AND, EQ had PVP. Many actually thought that the PVP in EQ was rather good, unbalanced but good. Darkfall IS very similar to EQ, the fact that it was made as a PVP game does not alter that. |

I am an old 1999 EQI player who played on both PvE and PvP and while it's PvP was unbalanced it was so much fun and once they got past the first two expansions the game went down hill rapidly for me and the only thing which kept me there was the social side and I have made many friend s which I am in contact with to this day and I played EQI for about six years. I am quite sceptical about Darkfall and while many are frenzy feeding on the hope that it will meet their expectations I am going to just keep calm and see what it does offer once it retails, as I have be disappointed to many times. But the fact this has taken so long to develop may just prove to be a good thing and I for one hope that the game does allow an open beta to test large players on the servers because while servers and infrastructures are vastly improved today the fact that 10,000 can allegedly play on one server could have a major impact in large battles and large lag would ruin such a PvP game. I have read all the reviews from so called internal tester but I am not prepared to be fooled weather it is true or false I will reserve my judgement until I have tried it for myself. I will not fall into the trap of judging it against any other product I have played and I will look at this from a new prospective and feel this is the only right thing to do. I feel the reason this game is causing so much positive and negative posting is the lack of information about the game and this is causing people to get frustrated, this is a problem which other MMO's have caused in the past by allowing the community to dictate and thus be forced to reveal information about the product in development. I like the way this has been fed to us and I think the small team have spent their time wisely rather than being continually forced to drip feed everything to us on demand. I rather hope we get very little information and I do not even want a tutorial and want to find out the hard way, just like when I opened my EQI game in may 1999, I was like a kid with a new toy and created my High Elf enchanter called Brezer and Wood Elf called Windwolf. I am not looking to bring them days back like others but to supersede them with all the knowledge I have gathered since and enhance what I can do and therefore enjoy it better. |

Im a 1999 EQ player as well. There is a world of difference between how Aventurine and EQ first parent developer handled their development it isnt even funny. Here's hoping aventurine will get some money out of this, but its doubtful. |
