Dont be so naive. SOE is offering gifts to SOME whilst excluding others - this will create even more drama. Additionaly, why do you think they are now so interest in moving these people by offering gifts? Instead of merging servers they are shifting the responsability on the players now. A few months down the road when they announce the closure of these servers anyone who did not benefit from this "encouragement" WILL have to pay and it will mean minimum expense for SOE, and lowering costs by closing half the servers.
Hozloff, now you are being paranoid or just trolling.
I have played many games that have downsized since their initial release and I have never seen any of these games charge a player to move their characters. What always happens to those who wait is they are moved to a server they could not choose.

Why don't they just make 1 single server? Then the game would be 'heavy' populated almost 24/7. When will these SOE people pull their heads out of their asses?

I would also like to know how this would "kill pvp". Merging all servers to one will not reach the capacity which one server PRE-CU enjoyed. |

When all of a sudden they offer incentives for a limted time only to move characters to selected servers and talk about "galactic peace" there is plenty of reason to question their motives. |

At least on Chilastra, there's already too many people trying to PvP in one spot. The server can't handle that many people fighting in one spot. |

Maybe PvP would and should expand to more then just one spot - like it used to. Why should it be confined to one area? What's the thrill in that? |

Just one more thing on the long list of problems with SWG. AFAICR the Empire and the rebels fought all over the Galaxy, it was not confined to one poxy little town on an obscure planet. S |

From what I saw on the vet trial the servers can't handle more than 16 people without spewing out nice big lag spikes. Which is weird seeing as the game is in essence a hell of a lot easier on the servers now that there's not a bajillion possible templates for each of the participants to have, it's just very, very poorly coded. ...The spread of secondary and latterly of tertiary education has created a large population of people, often with well developed literary and scholarly tastes, who have been educated far beyond their capacity to undertake analytical thought. |

Maybe, but I doubt it. As soon as one side dies they'll give up on that battle and go merge with one of the other groups until eventually everyones all in the same spot. Happens all the time at the moment. |

Or maybe those that are lagging will leave for another spot with less people. |

Just my advice, cancel your accounts don't watse time transfering to another dead server. The game is dead inspect the maggots crawling around the corpse. |

That's because of a complete lack of vision and bad game design! The potential to make the GCW dynamic and meaningful is there, the devs continue to ignore this and I for one personally blame our dull and lifeless GCW being a major player in the reason a lot of servers are ghost servers. Had there been a system in place that made PvP fun and engaging perhaps this mess wouldn't exist.

I don't disagree that the GCW could use a much needed face lift :) |

Sunrunner is dead also, yet it is on the 'transfer to' list. Tarq had more players (six more) online than Sunrunner when I checked during the vet trial. I guess Sunrunner would be a good destination for the folks who want to move from their current dead server, but still don't want other players around.
