Or is it that you didn't log into GW's as you said. There is no jumping in GW's and the fact you insist the general chat is rude and crude... Don't you know chat has a filter unless you change it. Which since you didn't know that there was no jumping means you sure didn't know about the filter. Btw, how did you get to the towns you went to? Did you take the flight path? Oh and what towns where you in? First you said chat is rude and crude then you say there isn't much chat so it's very quiet. You are full of contridictions, but even in your last 2 sentences you can't keep it strait. I didn't play guildwars long but these were not new characters. I played guildwars when it was released a long time ago. My daughter wanted to see guildwars so I reinstalled it. I did indeed log into guild wars. Since I run xfire pretty much all the time you can click on my sig and see that I played guildwars. As to chat filters I didn't take time to mess around with it. However the people talking had no issue with it using a space between each letter to spell their words. I logged in two characters. I don't know the names of the towns but one was in an area and over a 10 minutes or so I saw maybe a dozen people. I was trying to find out if there was a way to toggle off the party formation menu as when I logged in this was kinda confusing and right in the middle of my screen. As people were around I said Hello. There was no response. I tried it a couple times. Then I said can anyone hear me, no response. Finally I did a whisper to someone and again no response. Chat was dead silent. So I logged out and logged onto my other character, this one appeared in a small mass of people. There was some talk but none of it stuff I can repeat. They were making very effective use of spaces to bypass any filters. There were also running and jumping or something that looked like jumping. Maybe it was some sort of emote. One guy was off trying to hump another character or something. In any event I moved a bit away and again tried talking with similar lack of response. So I hope this satisfies you that I'm not just making this up. You might have had a great experience and maybe I just had a rotten one. But I guess your attitude is typical of what Guildwars has to offer. As I said the community in guildwars seems like it's weakest point. Fact is my brief experience was probably an example of the worst community experience in any game I've played in the last 10 years or more. There is no contradiction. I'm finishing up playing eq2 and will be going back to vanguard which is what I was playing before I started on eq2, AoC, and War.

Agreed, i remeber when I used to play , it was reallyfun, me and about 4 mates started playing it together and it and its expansions kept us entertained for ages, but RL took over, and school, then we lost interest, but GW is still going and its pretty good... Like i like the lack of grind at the story line was pretty good, and it was actually used. |

There is often a lot of immaturity in chat, but at the same time.. what game doesn't? Goldshire and the Barrens in WoW are horrible. You can't always base the quality of the game on the players. Like others have said, your best bet would probbly be to join a guild; in the past few weeks that I've been on I've seen a TON of guild advertisements offering friendly/mature guilds which sounds like what you might be looking for. I would also note, that I myself have come across a few towns that were rather quiet (these seemed to mainly the one's out in the Mamnoon area), but when you go to Ascalon/Lion's Arch/Droknar's Forge it's teeming with people and chat. ------------------------------------------------------------ |

My attitude that's funny lol. If I would've been the person you PM'ed I would ran you around half the game to show you how much fun it is. My point with the chat filter is that if you have it on then it blocks out quite a bit. Most people don't bother with spaces because you can turn the filter off and swear it up. I'm sorry if you thought I was attacking you but anyone who knows GW's the way I do can see a lot of precieved lies in your argument. I also asked a question of how you got from town to town. Tbh I was waiting for you to say that you took flight paths. So then I could see that you were talking about WoW lol. If you decide to try again PM. Mistress Regeurk or if your in Pre still try I Stay In Pre. I will show you that I am part of what makes the game fun. |
