What are you trying to say people blindly believe? What exactly would be the difference between a Dev or one of there 3rd Party friends. Do you believe it to be a more open review with no hint of Bias because she is merely a close friend of a Dev instead of a Dev? I mean ............. honestly what are you getting at?
Ok lol.............. lets say your right ok? She is a Dev instead of a close friend of a Dev............ what exactly does that change? lol. See where I am going with this? lol. |

Greetings, I don't know tho. We are just a month away from release, but no one noticed anything suspicous in all these screenshots? Just take a very good look. I am a bit dissapointed, maybe even baffled for the reason why. Why are they hiding a very important aspect of the game in all the screenshots? Sorry, but couldn't help noticing it. Cheers |

Then you should take a good look again. This has nothing to do about NDA. I know chatlogs need to be masked. So go through all the screenshots and look again. Cheers |

Then I will assume you are alluding to location names and such on the mini maps. Edited to add: You do realise a clause in the NDA for screenshots is more than likely they must be approved by Aventurine. Them not wanting locations of specific things known yet by the general public is not something unheard of or uncommen with any NDA. |

Yes, but why so shortly before release masking almost everything from the UI? I know a lot of people are very interested in how the UI looks and almost everything is constantly hided. In a lot of screenshots even action bars and whole minimaps and such are scrambled. Cheers |

For what ever reason these have been censored. If you merely wish to see screenshots of the UI and such these exists and are not censored. An example is below.
I would also recommend watching the Video from the ADW convention. You can see the UI in action if you wish.

The mini-map and damage-log windows need to masked for the same reason as the chat logs - they can contain the character names of beta testers. The mini-map displays the names and locations of a player's group members, (but not other players or NPCs), and the damage-log window displays the name of the player dealing damage - which could be an issue due to friendly-fire. It is most likely that Aventurine have requested these windows be masked at all times, as a "better safe than sorry" attitude. Edited to add: Six screenshots showing zoomed in footage of the UI, from the Athens Digital Event video, can be found here: |

Regardless, I'm glad she posts these, otherwise we'd have almost nothing to go on at all, which is a shame considering how much we're looking forward to its release. Oh well, another month or so, and they mystery resolves itself... And before anyone else says it... I posted something negative, so yes, I am a troll.

So you're saying it's totally illogical to think that a website hosted on Aventurines own servers is not in fact being operated by Aventurine developers? LOL Why does "she" not just host her own site? You're gullibility is beyond amusing and somewhat scary. How do you manage to survive in the real world? I would think every con artist and scammer would have bled you dry by now.
What's even more amusing is that hosting her site probably costs all of about 100 bucks a year.
Yeah man she is totally being bought out zomg roflocpters... |

seeing as Av have been totally consistent from day 1 about not disclosing all spell/skill info but rather letting gamers discover it in-game, i'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on this. |

Interesting is what part you highlight....you could have highlighted another part easily but you didn't.. Dunno why. Do you think the amount of negativity spit at these game is not big enough ? Do you think the game had it "too easy" in these forum ? It isn't like in any thread we get reminded about the "bad state of the game" ranging from "vaporware" to - "game is shit"... Yes please ..we badly need negative posts in these forum because its full of positive posts ...

I think she makes a v ery valid point most of the fanbois choose to ignore. she is playeding with 4-5 people max. there are only, what 180 people in beta I read somewhere, either way not alot. of course the game is smooth now, it has not been stress tested. they want to put 10k people in one instance at the same time, they need to test this. If they don't the game will just crash and epically fail when everyone trys to log on at the same time. at the moment its a good ORPG, who knows if its a good MMORPG until alot more people are playing it at the same time. |

Do you think she is the one doing all the editing? I don't. Those photos and her webstie are sitting on Aventurine servers. As such, I'm sure Claus and Tasos have full access and edit at will.
Fear not fanbois, we are not trolls, let's take off your tin foil hat and learn what VAPORWARE is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporware "Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product." |

The only way you can stress test servers are by allowing thousands of players to log on and try it. GOA on the EU launch of Warhammer claimed they had stresstested their account system, guess what it failed horribly. The second worst thing that can happen to a game at launch beside the game failing badly is the servers not handling the stress they get. GOA ruined a lot of players first impression of WAR with showing they even failed at letting people log on, Funcom had hyped the game and while the servers performed close to perfect technically, the game itself had bugs. AoC is one of the launches where the servers actually have worked more or less perfect, too bad the game had some pretty bad bugs that put a lot of people off playing it.

The reason why the mini map is blocked out is because it would be obvious that all of the screen shots are still only coming from around the small starting areas. The reason why the chat and group member window is blocked out is people would keep seeing the same few names and it would be even more obvious they only have a few testers online at a time, and those testers are still talking about the basics and its bugs. They also want to hide that the UI is still not finished and not fully functional yet, and they are still using things like place holder text with the current build etc. Good to see some nice screens shots of the barren lifeless world the beta testers were talking about. Interesting to see that even after 5 parts the preview has still not covered anything new that was not already mentioned in the beta report 1 weeks ago. Looks like after a month they are still only in the very early stages of beta testing, makes the new release date look as unrealistic as the last one in my opinion, unless of course they are actually intending to launch with this next month, if so good luck. |
