What do you have to prove and who the fuck cares? Their complaints will not deter me from the game because it has actually ran very damn well on my machine ever since closed beta and each performance patch made it run better. I'm not saying this patch won't be messed up when i try it, but for the time being I'm giving Mythic the benefit of the doubt because they haven't screwed up on my end yet.
That was one thread out of many. Have a look for yourself. It looks more like people are trying hard to find something good about the patch. Sorry for pointing out facts - they're obviously not popular on the WAR forum. EDIT: I found a positive thread! vnboards.ign.com/warhammer_online_age_of_reckoning_general_board/b22997/109694394/p1/ "Yeah there's a few bug but great patch over all." "A few is an understatement ....if I ever released code like this at my job, i wouldnt have to worry about showing up to work the next day" "Saying something good is fine and great, but OP did you really type that with a straight face, cmon be honest, we are all friends here." "full of fail... cant even close item link windows (teh wow-esque item link boxes just put in) with ESC. gotta physically click the X. very lame" |

Because everyone knows that Blizzard has never released a bad patch, or had servers go down for days at a time about 2-3 months after launch, which is the exact amount of time Warhammer has been out. |

It either works or it doesn't and this patch was very important to Warhammer. There are a lot of people who are at the make/break point of the game just waiting to see how this patch fixed the game. If Mythic drops the ball on this it will hurt this game very much and that does no one any good right now.
Every company has patching issues, but this wasn't just some run of the mill patch. This was Mythic promising to fix the game they promised, but failed to deliver on. When Mythic starts doing a lot more right then maybe it will be palletable to forgive them for making the occasional mistake, but this type of foulup is exactly what got them into this mess in the first place.

The new rvr influence gear is nice. Great addition to the game. The one thing I would like to see added is daily rvr quests. Such as collect 10 of these but put the quest in an rvr zone. That would put people in the rvr area even if the castle is not under attack. |

That way it would make people flock there to fight and Scenarios should support the battle by improving siege weapons or more powerful guards would appear for your side if you won the scenario. Whatever the case having RvR gear is pointless IMO because once a player receives it there is no more incentive to go back. It has to be a 'KEY' part of the game that people have no choice but to play. |

Okay, was a bit nervous of trying out this new patch, but that changed rather quickly. The player invisibility bug seems to have been fixed. Spells take a bit longer to cast than they're supposed to - this doesn't seem to be fixed yet. The new radial cooldown display is really nice, although the "twinkling" graphic looks like a placeholder more than the final result. Still, very nice improvement. Now, the first 2 really, REALLY major things that I noticed rather quickly after I logged on my tier 2 warrior priest. ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE RvR engagement taking place, due to the new RvR influence rewards. Order managed to seize control of most of the tier 2 RvR zones, although Destruction dominance in Scenarios are preventing full capture so far for some of the zones. Anyway, this leads to my second major point. MASSIVE PERFORMANCE INCREASE. I was engaging in massive PvP conflict in the open RvR area without experiencing a single hitch. Before that, just being in a warband could make the game unplayable at times. Truly, after 1.1 WAR really is everywhere, and the awesome performance increase makes it smooth and fun. Really nice job by Mythic. This patch was worth waiting for. |

Its been a great first evening. My missu is not a great fan of oRvR as she like action, action, action. However there was more than enought for her there tonight. With the bonus of a nice bit of jewellery too :)

I am very happy with the new patch. But the instanced RVR ques should pull from multiple servers. Prolly five servers would be sufficient. This would allow instanced RVR to still take place without hurting open rvr. I love the fact that people are engaging in open RVR. But sometimes I only have about a half hour to play and in the past I could play three instanced rvrs and be satisfied. So keep promoting open rvr but merge servers for the queing to make instanced rvr viable as well. And I know its not hard to do because in wow multiple servers form one que. |

Absolutely spot on. Its a shame Mythic are too stupid to realise that by making RvR optional it means that.....yeah thats right.....most of the players wont bother with it because they are off playing "Warhammer the PvE game" or "Warhammer Scenarios". Open RvR is just a side dish in WAR and as a result they have crippled their game from the very beginning. If they had incorporated open RvR into the game design then players would be automatically fighting over keeps and various other objectives because that would be the point of the game. Ther would actually be a reason to do it. Instead because open RvR is not the point of the game Mythic have to "tempt" players into the open RvR with shallow quick fix rewards and like Chryses said once they have them then they will leave because there is no other tactical or strategic reason to hang around. The only thing you can do in WAR is climb the ladder to level 40. The fact that Mythic are struggling with this really basic concept is absolutely ridiculous. They have divided their game into three seperate games and now they are wondering why people arent going into the open RvR game. Hmmmm....well.....let me see Mythic......maybe if you had made up your bloody mind what type of game you wanted to make and just stuck to one idea rather than trying to appeal to every play style on the planet then your game might have actually been really good. Oh well better luck next time eh. |
