I won't be re-subbing, SOE are awful, and lets face it EQ2 is pretty much as easy to play as WOW now. Appearance slot items make your character look cool etc, so now you can buy your way to this? well fuck that , and fuck SOE. Never ever gonna play a SOE game again, nuff said. |

Bah ... this is sad. EQ2 was quite good after the class system revamp. Not bad at all. Sure I was burnt after the SOE/NGE incident in Star Wars Galaxies, but EQ2 was the game I always wanted to return to. And now SOE has started to milk the players in this game too, on money, out of pure greed. Its not fun to play when the greed for money shine on through.
Instead of fixing the game bugs and add new features, they invent new ways to suck money out of their loyal playerbase pockets. They lay their time and money in the greed for more money, instead of investing in their current (and future)playerbase.
Goodbye Soe...have fun robbing you loyal playerbase... you wont get a dime out of me....ever again... |

Then a couple weeks after release (and after folks got their alts leveled and doing shard runs and all), tada -- item mall. And you know what? These "I've played EQ since EQ1" types are eating the item mall up. "It's only $5" "it doesn't affect gameplay" is the cry, and busy getting the junk. The nation's debt could be paid off by these people, just cloak it as some MMO trinket. Heck, there wouldn't even be homeless people with the billions spent on these cash shops, either. Selfish MEMEME is what MMOs are. It's about, "what I got, hells bells how I got it". -- ~Leonardo da Vinci |

Yeah it does make sense of the summer promo, try getting players back and hooked again but i feel in the long term this will hurt the game more than any other move SOE has ever made in EQ2. |

I dont understand all these criticisms. What the difference chinese or SOE market. You cant spoil much of game play which is already spoiled by goldsellers. Of course until SOE start to sell really exceptional things but thats not the point right now. If you dont like marketplace dont use it. Most grows base on gameplay some base on RM, thats life. |

This is SOE, of course they will start selling items in the cash shop that will unbalance the game in favour of those who a willing to spend the cash. It's SOE! SOE just went back on a promise to it's SWG playerbase about the very same thing in regards to power items on loot cards. It will happen, guaranteed. |

wow! this is the most stupid thing I've ever seen doing by an mmo-company I don't think a lot of people will pay a monthly fee and also use micro payment This is the beginning of the end for SOE (not for SOE but for a few of their mmo's) I'm sure a lot of people will stop playing EQ and their other mmo's now ------------------------------------------------------------------- |

I really don`t think these micro transactions will be successful. It`s easy to craft or loot nice items as it is. As long as buying good items doesn`t affect a players overall skill, I have no problem with it. I`m more concerned about my toons than someone elses. Neither I or any of my friends will ever use this pay for items system, but it doesn`t cause any outrage with us. EQ2 is still a fun GAME. |

I am not sure if it is that stupid. I do think it is the beginning of the end of a few of their pc based mmos. Not so much because of the item mall ideas but because of SOE heading future mmos to the console. If The Agency and DC Universe are a success the lights maybe dimming for SOE's pc mmos. I do think that is a few years away so we can enjoy our beloved eq and eq2 for a long time. I also am fine with the item malls in these games. Yes it is a way for SOE to make more money but it also offers players other choices in how they experience the game. You don't like the item mall don't use it, it is not forced micro payment. It does not matter to what others have or how they get it as long as I am having fun and it does not effect that enjoyment. Nothing in the EQ2 item mall does this so I am ok with it. |

So SOE is trying to kill EQ2 slowly?? that's awefull! I understand they add this things for their upcomming games on the PS3 netword or anny other new mmo title. But it is not good for a game where people already play a monthly fee for. ------------------------------------------------------------------- |

For the brain dead who can't rub 2 brain cells together... The nation's debt can be paid off by those who think it's "only $5". Heck, even homelessness. Billions are made in these cash shops spending just that "only $5". Now if you need a even more explicit explanation, see a shrink! -- ~Leonardo da Vinci |
