Saw this on the backshelves at Target -- AoC clearanced down to 9.98. Not necessarily a bad deal considering the 1 month free trial is included. Re-subscribing to City of Heroes? Get a bonus FREE 500 Points for the Paragon Market (a $6.25 value) using codes found in this thread here. --------------------- |

Well it would boost sub numbers right? That might help out, rather that hurt, no?

Any new or returning player to WOW, send me a PM for some help getting started. |

If you aren't playing anything right now, this is a great deal. The 1-20 content alone is probably worth $10. Be sure if you enter your CC information to go back and delete it as soon as your account is registered. Both AOC and Warhammer have had issues with billing people who had already quit. If you don't like WOW and you think EVE is too hard, then AOC is probably worth the $10 and 30 days. Make sure you ask on the forums what the most populated server is. If you do plan on playing past the 30 days, your server will make a huge difference in your gameplay. If you are an ex-wow player and want to come back. Scroll of Rez gives 7 free days, boost a character to 80 a realm and faction change. Send me PM for an invite. Only 1 per day available |

The AoC box price and Funcom's stock price are in a race to 0. They started almost even, the stock price took the early lead but now the box is catching up. |

How soon people forget. LOTRO ALSO went down to 9.99 after 6 months. It has been 6 months for AoC. Also of note, it is Christmas, and sales are going like crazy. For example, did anyone get the weekend deal on WAR from Amazon for 10.99? It has not even been what...3 months? As well, it is 10 bucks cheaper for WAR on Amazon right now than AoC. A 9.99 deal at one store means squat...Quit drinking the haterade people, and get a life. |

Maybe you need to go back and find my LOTRO complaints posted in the last week or two so you can troll them... But here is the difference. I can point out EVERY issue in LOTRO, that still exists to this day, and has not been fixed. All of my issues are being addressed in AoC. I have continually tried to play LOTRO, and meet the same issues over and over. The difference with AoC is people are basing their opinions on the launch of the game, and have probably not touched the game since then. They are not aware of the changes. There are even posters here who have not tried the game, but are being sheep to comment. When was the last time YOU played? That is a huge difference. |

Yeah all of your issues has been addressed in AoC but not in LOTR but maybe someone elses issues has been addressed in LOTR but not in AoC. So that makes them haters of AoC but you not hater of LOTR? Maybe you should stop seeing everything from only your perspective. |

Welcome to the forums. While I belive the company is completely ridiculous in their business practices, I don't see the reason why alot of these people here just like to post anything negative about the game that has little to do with the topic, or the truth. I don't really mind the people who give honest shortcomings of the games. Y'know, actual reasons for hating the game, general discussion, and an obvious knowledge on the game; however, those people come far and few between. I find it very hypocritical when someone lies about the state of the game while mentioning they hate FC's untruthful business practices. Kind of funny, actually.

This is a good deal for those living in America. Not bad for the price of a cup of coffee per week. Puchase gets you the DVD's too which are always handy to have.

I've recently returned to this game, and I'm astonished how lively the game still manages to feel.
The performance is far better than at launch, and the world is busteling with trash talk and PVPing. The next patch also looks promising; though I am taking a casual approach to these types of games now. As a former disgruntled customer who's recently resubbed, (and as someone who is very picky) I can reccomend it, and state that this is how the game should have been.
I only wish my current level 80 (Barbarian) wasn't a chore to play. Oh well; rerolling to see all the new stuff as a HoX isn't too bad. |

Originally posted by Yamota Maybe you should read this part again The difference with AoC is people are basing their opinions on the launch of the game, and have probably not touched the game since then. They are not aware of the changes. There are even posters here who have not tried the game, but are being sheep to comment. When was the last time YOU played? This is where the difference is. As another poster stated, people hop in here to make a comment with no other experience. And the price does not deal with the issues. Right now I can point you to a website where a blogger gave the reasons for AoC's failure. Guess how long he played? NEVER. All based on conjecture. For some reason Funcom has garnered this hate train based even on non-play time. There is a big difference between hating a game you have played due to it's many issues compared to hating a game because everyone else does. Why do YOU hate it? My bet will be it is based on very old data or experience.
EDIT: The website I spoke of VoX And quote "Yes, to a large degree these articles are personal opinion. Especially a post-mortem on a game. Funcom hides any real info well, so we on the outside are trying to dissect a sort of black box. I don’t play Age of Conan. Never have. But I do keep tabs on the video game community, and those who did play the game have their concerns and reasons for leaving, and it’s those reasons which make up the bulk of, yes, this opinion piece." Based on this, the person wrote an article with inaccurate data (old data) and did not note this as an opinion piece (it ended up being grabbed by Kotaku.com as a "reality" post...when it surely is not...) This is the type of haterade I speak of...BIG DIFFERENCE |

I just bought this and installed everything. Haven't registered yet (was waiting for it to update first).
I know that Target wasn't listed under the list of Retailers under the snow mammoth promo, but will I get the snow mammoth from registering with this? |

" here: http://www.ageofconan.com/order_US.html?utm_id=4 Might have to find out when it comes to registering and then once in game type /claim and see if anything happens. As you said Target was not under the list so I wouldn't get hopes up too much, but you never know right?!
