I'm not a really a fan of Blizzard games, I liked Diablo 2 back in the day, played a bit of WoW, as much as I could stand. Any idea what the title will be? World of Starcarft? |

Exciting news! I'm sure whatever it is, it'll be the next big thing. |

While I would hope for a Starcraft mmo, I doubt it. And while whatever it is will undoubtedly be on par with WoW, that's why I can't get excited about it. WoW's been done, and unless they plan to go a whole different route, a new one will just be WoW reskinned, and I really have no interest in that. |

They will announce it at the World Wide Invitational, but that could still be years away. I expect a new new SF IP, something like StarTrek, but with Blizzard touch, better storytelling, better PVP, better crafting and more social options than WoW. For next WWI, I think we will finally hear something substancial about the Warcraft movie.

So it won't be WoW. That doesn't mean it won't be WoW-like. That's the problem. |

Exactly. WoW in space will still be WoW, just, like, in space. ---------------------------------------- |

Um, "a different massively multiplayer experience" seems to indicate that it'll be something not like WoW to me. Why would they want to compete with themselves? It'd make much more sense to tap into the part of the market they don't already dominate.

Blizzard does the "developer double-talk" just like every other. So when they say it'll be a different experience, it can mean "It's different! WoW doesn't have Pokemon and puppies!!" Not saying anything with certainty here. i'm just saying the term "different" can mean alot of things, including "just the same as, but", when a dev or marketer says it. |

Sadly, given the additions to WoW, that wouldn't surprise me at all. |

BTW, the last time we heard this talk it was that Starcraft would just be "Orcs in Space." So how the hell did that work out for those crystal-ball readers who thought Blizzard would just copy a game? I think we're going to hear the "Orcs in space" line a lot, from people ignorant of the history of the most consistently successful gaming company ever. Well, we know that they'd have to be total idiots to try and roll out a WoW 2.0 in a new skin. So, they'll do some thing different. Who knows exactly what that will mean though. I do know one thing though, a lot of people have argued that the WoW style of MMO is the only viable style. Will be really interesting to hear the comments if Blizzard takes on one of the other designs out there... |

Due to complaints by employers about employees calling out "sick" to play a game and an overall interest in solving the job-cut crisis, Blizzard will be introducing: World of WorkCraft
Employees will think it's just a game... http://www.allaboutgod.com/ |
