It says that North American players can participate in the European release. Does that mean that there will be a seperate server for America released at a later date? This was kind of confusing as Tasos didn't provide a lot of information.

Yes. They haven't gotten a US publisher yet but they are working on it, push comes to shove they have said they will self publish and or do digital downloads for US players but a US server is already in the plans.

I wasnt too exicted about this game, but reading through all the information i am definely going to have to try this game out.

Different game for the hardcore players---> masses get into it---> whine---> game gets adjusted----> harcore players whine---> they leave looking for the best next fix---> different hype---> modified by mmorpg forum readers---> and then its just another game with the same errors and good things like any other MMORPG. nothing new nothing strange except it took alot of bandwith on forum usage regarding the NEXT BIG THING Still all the fun of the world who will have a blast playing it. I'm still taking a wait and see approach. I've followed the game years ago and there were definite release dates then for beta and live that never cames because of vague possible reasons such as the current "marketing conditions".

It is good to be excited about a game, but seriously, just because they said a game is coming out a certain date which they've done before, does not mean it will considering their track record. All I am saying is, people cannot expect it is for sure coming out January 22, 2009 just because they said it will, especially after they just delayed it, albeit only a month this time.

As far as market conditions, thats bs. Oh, yes, lets not release the game at christmas when people might actually buy more, those are horrible conditions to sell a game.

Whenever it does release, I will probably only try if it is free because there have too many letdowns for me already from darkfall. I probably half believed it would never release because of all the bs they have fed us over the years. I am still extremely skeptical until it is actually released and can't really blame me, lol. It is like someone getting hit and asking "can I have some more please?"

Actually if you look up the definition, Darkfall was, and still is vaporware. Go look it up

Anyways, that date is a lot sooner than I expected. Should be very interesting if they can pull it off... Lets all hope it comes out and is good!

lol look up the thread entitled "Petition to remove Darkfall from mmorpg.com"  for a good laugh lol.  It is locked but a just a testament to how ignorant people can be around here.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves.  AoC launched and it was crap.  WAR launched and it's crap.  VG launched and it was crap.  The list goes on and on.

If after launch, DF is all it's cracked up to be, I'll admit I was a doubter and will celebrate a great MMO.  If not, well...  that's just one more game to add to the growing list of crappy games that were released buggy, unfun, and unfinished.

And who cares about the launch? This is probably one of the best times to say: "quit living in the past". Because a game had a terrible laucnh, doesn't mean it will be a terrible game for the rest of its days... And the only reason AoC had a crappy release was because the beta testers obviously didn't do their job. It was their job to look for bugs, but 80% saw it as an opportunity to play the game. But since Darkfall seems to pay special attention to whom they invite to the beta, I think that'll work out. Or at least, it should!

Woah January 22nd!!! I can honestly say I didnt see that coming. I figured around march.

However now the  question is will they open up the world of DF to us before January 22nd, so we can see some real info on it? Like on Open beta. Is there going to be a try before you buy promotion? Forgive me as I have not got cought up with DF over the past few days as work has been kind of hellish.
