I do know as a WARHAMMER Beta tester they would come down very hard on critical posts. No one was allowed to give overal feedback for example. Beta forum natzi modding I feel does not help a game company understand the players. |

There has never been a major review of the game by any known journalist and even at the Athens show only certain screened people were allowed to play it. That validates my comments in spades. Tasos comes off very arrogant in his interview and that is about the worst thing you can do trying to get others to play your game. I hope Adventurine does pull it off, but let's face it the success rate of small indie developers is probably in the single digits. We could all use another success story like Eve. Oh and on a 2nd note. Give the state of AI and today's technology, it is not possible to simulate how a server will handle live accounts accessing it by using bot software. About all you end up doing with such a test is to see how the server handles a host of message events, you won't be able to actually incur much of a processing load on the server that way.
Oh.. how stupid you are going to look. Come of your high horses, before you fall flat on your face. ***************************** |

Originally posted by Kyleran LOL, this thread is jumping up by the page faster than I could read them. (edit, added yet another page just in the time it took me to type this) But I agree with you. The tone of the interview was aggressive and probing, and Tasos reacted defensively and with a bit of arrogance. Means he's a real person after all. Got so tired of those emotionless reports he's published. I now believe that Tasos is real. If MMORPG.com had pulled any punches, or gone soft, people would be screaming. Also, if you really think his answers were that offensive, dismissive, egotisical, what have you, then I'm going to put forth that you aren't really the right material to play Darkfall. Seriously, this is a game of attitude and arrogance, and you'd better have a bit of both (and be able to take it as well as dish it out) to really enjoy the game. If not, DF is just not your game. (we have very similar parallels in EVE) This is not a game for your children, wife, girlfriend (boyfriend) to play casually with you, its a game where many players are going to be playing for blood and honor, (and just plain because the love to gank) and thats what its all about, the freedom to build your own world, or to tear it down if you like. I want to thank Stradden and the staff of MMORPG.com for arranging this interview, and coming up with firm facts like the number of people in beta ( I was right, all you people who accused me of trolling yesterday) and that they are ready to announce a release date. (in a matter of days, not months) Finally I've read something from a new source that I trust and I'm willing to give Tasos a break about his attitude and a chance to deliver on his promises. In the end, I want DF to succeed, so might as well see if they make good on the promises. At least until next month.
very nice post. it seems like nothing can please the rabid people on here, they are the type of people that dont understand the idea of faith and cant believe in anything unless its right in front of them |

Right more dancing. Sorry but keep it simple. You said it had never been shown at a show/convention/etc. But it has. I gave you proof. This last response proves it without you growing up and admitting you were wrong. Decent read. Sadly I stopped reading once he used the word "troll". When developers start using words like this, it only shows how immature they can be. It boils down to name calling, which a developer should never do. Oh well though right, as he states, the game is ready for launch right now. I seriously can't wait for this dam thing to finally drop. It's going to be a field day, ..................... |

Seems like you're forgetting the Athen's Digital Week which was open to the public - we have the video where (I believe) Kjetil is playing Darkfall life in front of a public audience. |

They have been playing to the player created hype for a long long time. Going to be some disappointed fans. I have seen his kind before. I guess noone recalls last yers little epic flame war he created, and fuled? |

btw lol @ anyone suggesting that DF's marketing strategy is amateurish or bad.... Look at how fast this news annoucnement has exploded already within a few hours compared to annoucnements of other games in development. Like it or not people...this game is HIGHLY discussed and is well known to pretty much everyone in the MMO community who visits sites like this or plays PVP games.

Honestly if you can't stand the usage of the word "troll" by another human being, then I'd advise against ever playing a game like Darkfall. The questions posed in the interview were direct and confrontational, and I think Tasos handled them well. Its been proven time and time again that there is NOTHING that can be done to satisfy the naysayers. The game could be a smash hit with a million subscribers, and they'll still come on here with the "cool to hate" attitude and say it sucks, lol. |
