Nice, can't go wrong for that price. Should get some of the 'on the fence' people to at least give it a try and see how it is. The negativity campaign on these boards is pretty big but is it more powerful than $10 for a month of play? We will see. When people try the game for themselves, they should be better at splitting the valid concerns from the made up hate nonsense I see so often here. Waiting for: A skill-based MMO with Freedom and Consequence. |

To learn how to use a sword, one must first master when to use a sword. |

Then by your logic WotLK must be doing bad too cause it's on sale for $25, 35% off retail price and it's only been about 2 weeks... |

I dont' see any new players lasting long in WAR... Have any of you guys tried starting a ALT? Tiers 1 and 2 are a ghost town, new players are going to get frustrated when they try to do a PQ and find out they can't get past stage 1 because theres not enough people around to do it... |

Big difference... One is a brand new game (WAR) and the other is a 2nd Expansion for a game thats been out around 5 years...

I won't say Warhammer will die, but it appears the numbers are starting to point towards "niche game" for sure. There is an increasingly smaller NEW sub rate which spells danger due to this being billed as a huge open PvP game. There is a small group of people (based on overall server numbers) that are at the 'end game'. They seem to be having battles around 200 v 200 they claim in posts. The rest in the lower and middle levels are going extremely slow through the content and half of them are logging in/out, so they are not replacing 'fresh' troops for those battles. Eventually, the top guys will get tired of killing the same old names with the same tactics. As those people at higher level begin to quit due to boredom (fight over/over/over for weeks with no clear winners), lag issues for some, contribution system etc, where will the new people replacing them come from? Fanbois are now blaming: 1.Wow players for ruining their game. This one is really funny. Not sure how they rationalize this one. 3. LOTRO and WoTLK expansions for stealing people who are already subbed to WAR. This one is the funniest cause if WAR is a better game, why would those subbed WAR folks go play Moria or Lich King? Because people will play what they feel is more fun, naturally. This is no secret. They point to Christmas as the turning point for WAR. I think its more like 2009. If they don't have their problems worked out by the time the new MMOs release, it will spell trouble solidifying WAR's place in Niche history. It won't die, it'll just linger there with the lore fans. If people are leaving WAR for expansions to older games now, what do you think will happen when brand NEW content is released? They really need to inject some sanity into the fingerpointing and direct this to Mythic. It's their baby so they deserve the blame. What ever happened to accountability? |

I won't even try a free trial if one was available after reading these forums for the last few weeks.

I wouldn't say just because people say they don't like it, you should not try it. That's just as bad as War fanbois saying because they find it the best ever, then you should buy it. I did play it but only found it a fair/good game. It was fun for a month but then I feel asleep. There are others who are playing it night and day though, they see nothing wrong with it or very little. I think FFXI was the best MMO I've played to this point, but there are PLENTY who disagree with me and found it boring. You are definitely doing the right thing. Read the forums, throw out the complete troll flames and the complete Fanboi hypes and you'll find enough truth to find whether its right for you. I bought on release so all that was available was positive hype from the company and WAR lore fans, there was no counterbalance then. I think now there is plenty of rational argument both ways for you to find the truth. |

Now, after release I read there is no RVR but only scenarios, its obvious to me this is not the game for me. In fact I find it hard to understand what anyone would enjoy about this game; if they like scenarios why not play an online FPS.

If you never played it of course you wouldn't know, so don't assume. I try not to be considered a fanboi but it's hard when you like something and alls everyone does is bash it to hell for problems that are solvable it will just take a little time. I ain't believing the new patch is going to be a miracle patch but I already enjoy the game and I like the Knights and I want to play them. I would rather not hear bashing from people who never played it or only played it for the first 10 levels. I played WoW to the 60's and I enjoyed it then but I don't enjoy it now. I enjoy Warhammer now, most people who don't have not had the same experiences as I have in the game and it makes me annoyed and upset that people bash it so much without doing what I have done to like the game. I have stopped trying to recruit people cause its pointless, people are too fickle in general to give new games a shot, they would rather go back to games they feel more comfortable with then actually try anything else. But as a last note, if you let people on a forum decide what games you play then don't come to my games cause your not worth killing. |

I understand how you feel, as on the one hand I'm excited to try this game, and at the same time it's getting a lot of negativity of late. However, I would point out that when/if a free trial comes out, the game will cetainly have been out for a while and might have a lot of stuff fixed; besides, if it's free, what does it hurt to atleast give it a try? There's been many games that I've thought were going to be lame, but I eventually gave their demo/trial a go (honestly, it was usually out of boredom from everything else I'd been playing) and have found some really good ones! Personally, for the longest time I thought WoW looked pretty stupid...downloaded the trial and found that I actually had a fair amount of fun, cartoonish look or not (infact it's a nice change, but that's not for here). Anyways, what I'm trying to get at is, if it's free then you don't have anything to lose and you never know what gems you might come across! ------------------------------------------------------------ |

Anyways, what I'm trying to get at is, if it's free then you don't have anything to lose and you never know what gems you might come across! Well, if I take a free trial I assume I might stick with that game and character. And when I play a mmorpg I take the first steps VERY seriously. It takes me hours to figure out the most populated/best server for instance. I have to figure out what class to pick and what race. Also some games have crappy classes or races, so I have to figure out what classes not to pick, which takes another few hours. Lastly is naming my character; I spend some time figuring out a name which connects with the lure the game has. For instance with the WOW free trial, I spend literally DAYS finding out the best server for me. (Ironforge I think) . Then I spend hours finding out the best class. (Shaman horde) And at least one hour to find a suitable name (Ironclad) Then only to find out after three weeks the game was not my taste. (crafting, economy) I'm not gonna spend all that time and effort on a game which I already assume is not for me.
