Come back in 5 years. There is a limit in what todays technology can do. If you want graphics like AoC in an MMO it has to be instanced. AoC instanced are maxed at about.. what, 50 players? If there were more people in one instance, everyone would lag like crazy and it would come unplayable. If you are looking for sandbox, Darkfall is coming out soon. Graphics are no where near AoC but combat system sounds interesting. DF also has many other cool features which I hope will make it in launch. ----------------------------- |

All I can say is: Welcome to the AoC MMORPG.com community; where 90% are here to trash talk the game and is not playing the game in the first place. /Fixed |

So lets see.. 90% of posters trash talk the game Sounds right to me. It just means 90% of players didn't like the game and feel it's their responsibility to tell the world. Btw I played AoC last weekend using my friends account. I got bored in less than an hour. I Might try it again tomorrow if I have time. How about you? ----------------------------- |

Since you don't have proof for what you say, you mentioning the 90% number 200 times does not make it any more true. Using words like "EXACT" wont help either. As I've said in that regard before; our only source of hard data until january is the Q3 report. The rest is speculation. I am not here to say that AOC did not have a lot of flaws when it launched. It did. And I know since I have played this game since Closed beta. But what I'm saying is that a LOT of what people say here is outdated info and pure vile hatred. And to the topic: Yes, AoC is an instanced game. The problems concerning instances and teaming has been fixed. There are both helpful and unhelpful people in AoC; as everywhere else. Many servers have low population. Others have not. One of the more populated servers which I have chars on has never had less than two instances in Tortage during prime time that I have seen. I don't fiind instancing a problem. Others do. If you get bored playing AoC, Scaredgirl, that's fine with me. But are you certain that we need 200 posts in a weeks time to get that piece of information?? |

Oh, no. Not 90% of the posters at all. Just some very, very vocal posters, who manage to totally dominate this forum and constantly downtalk a game, they have cancelled ages ago. The thing is, the normal or at least avarage forum member comes here perhaps once a day and posts a couple of answers. There is no way they can counterbalance this onslaught from some very determined posters. I will probably also avoid the AoC forum here again. It is just badly managed and throws a bad light on the MMORPG.com forums altogether. |

While they have made many improvements, the game is still basically the same. I don't like it when people tell others that the game is "totally different now! It's amazing!!!". It's not. And everyone can go online to see for themselves if they don't believe me. You said: "The problems concerning instances has been fixed.". What you mean by this? I think for many people the problem with instances is that there ARE instances in the first place and you cannot fix that. As long as we get those pretty graphics, instances are here to stay. Like what OP here is asking. They haven't "fixed" that. You still get multiple instances in the same zone (provided there are enough players). And once again we finish with a personal attack regarding my post history..

Oh, ok. I thought you were talking about 2 different things. Instances and teaming. I guess you meant it like "the problems with teaming in instances have been fixed"? My bad. ----------------------------- |

Welcome to the community that used to be the AoC community. Most of the people that flamed you are people who don't play the game anymore. 90% of people didn't quit the game, about 50% did. The game still has about 300k subs world wide, and I believe, could be wrong, that the game only sold 800k world wide. Now, many people who quit early were expecting a PvP MMO with the amount of PvP content suprrassing wow's, but FC failed to deliever. Another big protion of people who quit did so because their first MMO was WoW or EQ after the first year it had been out and where expecting the game to have a year's worth of polish at launch. The veterens knew better and are eithering buying the game now, or didn't plan on buying it.
Case in point, my friend who played AoC see nothing really wrong with the game; however, doesn't see any reason to play it anymore because it doesn't have enough unique aspects and has decided to give Vanguard another try.

Why is that excactly? Unless those 50+ people are close enough to each other for them to be rendered at high detail then this is a non-issue, graphic wise anyway. Or are you saying that, since the zones are so small, then the above situation is bound to happen and if it does then it would crash the client? Anyyway you could solve that not by instancing but by providing enough of different zones so that the likelyhood of 50+ people in the same small zone would be minimal. That is what most games do and one of the major selling points of MMORPGs. To be in a persistant world, not several instances of the same world in the world. Thats why you have different servers. To accomodate for the people that cant fit on the same server. |

The instanced world doesnt bother me at all and doesnt make me enjoy the game any less. AOC is a good game dont listen to the trolls stalking this forum. --------------------------------------- |
