There are people who keep saying they want to be exceedingly safe because they dont want to receive the pain they did by falling in love with a previous game (AoC, DnL). I can understand this. The last and first time this ever happened to me was with Anarchy Online (I was quite dissapointed) I missed Dark and Light and the video's of AoC looked like ass and it was a lvl based game so I wasnt excited at all. I guess I was dissapointed with Assasin's Creed.. although it didnt matter much and I just went back to COD4. Anyway, I can say honestly, that in my opinion when I look at all of the videos, information, and pics available it seems to me it is a far stretch to think that the game will be a buggy mess with half of the promised content. Every promise I have found important appears to have overhealming evidence. I mean it can be genuinly argued that it is fake... There are also entire books written about how elvis is still alive.. with overwhealming evidence. If saying DF is a joke is to prevent you from teh pain of loss you already received.. i guess you are smart for beign skeptical..but in my opinion.. very little of what Aventurine says does not make sense to me.

For me it was Shadowbane. I thought the game was going to be amazing from reading the list of features. Then I got in the beta, and thought, OMG, this is a real turd. Feature list =/= actual gameplay. Not ever. What makes no sense is that you have decided it's impossible for this game to be buggy, because you saw a video. |

I dont think its impossible, I also didnt decide it from one video.. but multiple, especially the Athens technology 30 minuite live play video + the italian closed beta review anyway.. be skeptical.. its better for everyone who is hehe

Darkfall has been the butt of jokes for years for being nothing but vaporware. But as it draws hopefully closer to its completion, it's becoming clear that it is an actual real game. I think adding to the vaporware claim is the lack of information the company has been releasing on the game during its development. Rather than address the rumors, the devs have just been quietly plugging along and building a solid MMO. And in the end, if and when this game releases, I think the critics will be silenced and the gamers will be satisfied. Look at all the critcism games take now for being released too early. Vanguard, AoC, etc. "Why pay to beta test?" is the refrain. Gamers get frustrated with them and the games end up with low population servers. I don't know if this is Aventurine's thinking, but regardless, it is doing the right thing by waiting. As much as I'm looking forward to trying this game, I know I wouldn't want it to release until it is completely done. And as more and more information filters out about Darkfall, I think it's becoming clear why the development time has taken so long. Aventurine is a pretty small company that appears to be building a game on a size and scope that has never been done before. That doesn't happen overnight. So now that the end may finally be in sight, I'm going to wait patiently and let the devs do what needs to be done in order to complete this game. And I'll let the work speak for itself. If it doesn't live up to the hype, then I'll be right there saying it was all for nothing. But if it does what so many are hoping for, I'm sure all will be forgiven and forgotten by the fans who have waited so long. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tK6YIAX1jg |

what DOES make a big difference is the number of bugs in the game. AoC was released in almost alpha quality and tanked, War was released as a mid-late beta and is also losing a fair proprtion of their subscriber base. I hope DF doesn't get sucked into releasing before they're ready. seeing as they don't have some big faceless publisher breathing down their neck they are probably in the best possible position to make that call. |

From the vids it looks like DK is still in alpha. But then again i havnt seen all the vids i dont think, just two of em. Any vids on pvp combat or a whole combat vid? Most ive seen is like the itallian one where it showed 30seconds of a half naked girl running around swinging a sword. Whats the reason for all the hype? I know why some watch it cause its been in development for so long. But why so much rabid hype from fans? FFA pvp with loot? So if WAR, vanguard, AoC and the rest of games out added the ability to loot players on there ffa servers you would praise em? Wait makes this game the messiah of mmorpgs? No lvls? Is that the secret to ur guys devotion? FPS combat with lootable corpses, crafting, boats and houses? Is that what will breathe life into this stale genre? Not doging it but theres not alot of easy accessable info on this game, never has been. Ive only heard of it thru the ages because of forum users. I have a feeling its going to be releasesed in 3 to 4 months so buzz me up why should I care about this underground game? Im guessing its the fact thats it underground and that makes it worth the excitment. |
