To be more clear:  I dont think you are a troll.  But you do have a tendancy to post excessive negative comments...but you at least do it in a healthy and fun way.

I agree. I think the issue of trolling is not one of those "it's a fine line between..." issues. Either you're a troll or you're not, and it's usually pretty obvious which.

I, too, could come up with a dozen or more people off the top of my head who are known trolls, but for whatever reason still have not been banned, and are still here trolling to this day.

However, I do find it funny how they wont invite a reputable media company to report on them: I.E. PC Gamer Magazine , PC Gamer World, IGN the vault, MMORPG.com, or any other reputable sources; all they can find is non-english speaking interviewers. You would think Darkfall would be trying to show people the game is real and is in fact going to release by doing interviews with reputable companies , yet they refuse to do so... bad marketing??

They certainly aren't going to win any marketing awards =)

Their stance is the game will speak for itself.  A bold strategy and one that we will have to wait to release to see if it pays off.

However I will say that it is already working.  It is one of the most talked about games with almost nothing invested in marketing. 

I applaud them in the sense that they dont need to prove their game is real.  They know it is, they apparently have confidence in it and think that when they release it that it will speak for itself.

One thing I will also say is that before the gameplay video was released, and this forum was still mainly trolls going "lol vaporware" literally in every thread, there was a quote I think by brannoc saying "well if the game isnt real, then someone better tell all those guys working in greece to stop doing whatever they are doing"  i know i got that quote wrong but the message is the same.  And it turns out that they are and that they just dont care what some people on a forum think.

Remember that you, me, and everyone on this mmorpg.com forum make up <1% of the the people who will play DF if it releases well and gets great reviews.  So if the handful of us want to bicker about the game, they dont care.  They have nothing to prove to us.

First of all, the OP was trolling. Trolling isnt necessarily negative comments(although it often is), trolling is a comment that attempts to get a lot of negative or confrontational comments, so as to encite a flame war.

Second of all, id like to comment on the subject matter. There are people who keep saying they want to be exceedingly safe because they dont want to receive the pain they did by falling in love with a previous game (AoC, DnL). I can understand this. The last and first time this ever happened to me was with Anarchy Online (I was quite dissapointed) I missed Dark and Light and the video's of AoC looked like ass and it was a lvl based game so I wasnt excited at all. I guess I was dissapointed with Assasin's Creed.. although it didnt matter much and I just went back to COD4.

Anyway, I can say honestly, that in my opinion when I look at all of the videos, information, and pics available it seems to me it is a far stretch to think that the game will be a buggy mess with half of the promised content. Every promise I have found important appears to have overhealming evidence. I mean it can be genuinly argued that it is fake.. still.. There are also entire books written about how elvis is still alive.. with overwhealming evidence.

If saying DF is a joke is to prevent you from teh pain of loss you already received.. i guess you are smart for beign skeptical..but in my opinion.. very little of what Aventurine says does not make sence to me.

Hmmm, actually it is far older.... since it was anounced in 2001, and you only anounce a game when the basic development are done (of course, if you are a serious company).

        You may say, Adventurine has it for already 6 years, but them, they hired most of Razorwax crew.

Darkfall development should be around 9 years, 1 year before anouncement, 2 years after it under Razorwax and 6 years (going to seven) with Adventurine.

Cmon man cut me some slack you know that isn't accurate.

First of all im assuming that number on the homepage is lifetime members, so how old is this site?  How many do you think actually check it?  How many just signed up for a chance at a beta key?  The amount of actual traffic is sooo far from what the total membership number suggests.

And i was mainly refering to the member who check this forum specifically...meaning that I doubt DF cares about the handful of posters on this forum that call them scam artists or demand proof of their game. 

Would a front page ad about a staff member review of DF be beneficially?  Of course which is why i supported that thread you made Zorvan.
