Well if your sole purpose in an MMO is to collect mounts, I suggest that you look else where for an MMO to play.

 

This is why WoW is better, our game actually has mounts, not some cheap gimmick like '"flying with wings".  I mean come on!  You wanna fly with wings, then go buy some feathers and glue them to your arms, don't play mmos.

Sorry, I made a reply to a post that was already deleted (and that was a good choice).

The wings in Aion are more than just a way of travel, or a stupid gimmic. They offer tactical choices in combat, can be upgraded to increase your stats, and so on. It puts the combat into something whole new, a 3D experience, where the enemy can not only attack you from in front or behind, but also from the top or from below. It's sooo much more than a mount you see in different MMO's.

               everyone sprouting wings is a turn off for me to... not trolling .. just dont like it ...

Oh man where do I start. Actually I am not even going to start. There is no reasoning with an MMO'er that WoW brought to the genre. Enjoy your WoW mounts as I will enjoy my areial combat.

omg you guys totally missed what i was saying..... i was saying IM STILL GONNA PLAY THIS GAME AND IT LOOKS AWSOME, i was just slightly dissapointed that it didnt have mounts. its not my SOLE purpose to play a game for mounts its just a little thing i like to do on the side. and yes you can fly but only for like one minute when your not in the abyss. and yes gliding sounds fun and i cant wait to give it a try. im just a big fan of collecting mounts. i was not trashing this game in any shape or form i was just voicing my opinion. so im sorry if all you Die hard Aion fans got offended and mistook me for a Troll.

I agree with the OP, I would like mounts.

Think about it, we have two legs but does that stop us riding a mount in other games? In other games your character can travel on land and gets a mount that travels on land. Here you have wings, why not a mount with wings? Maybe your speed with wings is already really fast, I don’t know. But I have heard you cant stay in the air long, a Pegasus would be great!

This is so typical of entitlement brats.  Aion is giving you the ability to fly, at a good speed judging from the vids, and to have aerial combat...and you are crying about lack of mounts???  Get your lame butts to another MMO and ride your horsey.

 Popped in to my local Gamestop today to see when the release date was set for this game in NA, and they had it at April 2th, 2009. Hopefully this game comes out sooner than that.

I saw the same garbage in EQ2 when they brought in the fay/fey however you spell it, class.I saw GUYS yes guys all over the place all excited about flying around as a fairie,my god,the world is turning queer.

Now we got this guy who is more worried about his mounts than any game play what so ever...i think i rest my case.

I played SHAIYA, ya i know a F2P game but it was ok to pass some time,i wasn't expecting it to be long term.All i heard everyday was players complimenting high level players about there mount,like they personally designed the thing or something lol,it is part of the game nothing more.PLayers in Shaiya kept grinding non stop for the sheer purpose of getting one of those cool looking mounts.Sure i am a realist,there does have to be something for players to look forward to in a game otherwise ,there is no reason i guess?Well here is a new concept? How about i just like playing the game ,because of it's mechanics/design/world?Do i really need a niche idea or cool mount to be my deciding factor on weather i play or not?I would hope not.

Subscription numbers or quality of a game mean NOTHING,you can get away with any crap nowadays and possibly sell tons of subscriptions.No i am not implying AION WIL Lbe crap,i am just hinting at the fact some players ,think AION is the next coming of christ,and how exactly would they know that?They don't !.

There's nothing wrong or retarded about wanting mounts. Yes even in a flying, sorry I mean gliding game. Reading this thread it struck me how fanboyish we can get sometimes the minute someone starts a thread about something we know won't be in game.

It doesn't mean because NCsoft has no plans for mounts AT THIS TIME, that there will never be mounts ever. Never is a big word for an MMO, especially if it's successful for a number of years.

Probably agree with this. I bet you'll see mounts down the line since that usually adds some excitement when things like that are put in later.

In most mmos, mounts are a given staple, so there is nothing new or special about it. Uusually, a mount is a point most people work towards as a waypoint ("I can't wait til 3 more levels then 40. I get my mount!!!") Few other games offer the ability of flight though, so this is way rarer. I'd rather have that carrot for a change than whinnying horses.

If I had to choose between getting a mount and getting wings to fly, I vote wings. Mounts are soooo yesterday. I'm glad thats the focus instead of mounts right now. Now different collectible wings would be cool too. You know, Christmas wings, Halloween wings, etc. :)
