Well siad post Templarga. It took Greyhoof buying the original and both expansions and clearing all or most of the content of all three to realize the game is boring and skilless. Sounds to me like you played the game, enjoyed it, burnt up all the content and then after being done with the game decided to bash it for no reason other than to try and promote how awesome War is.

I sort of agree with you there, but it wasn't time wasted, after all WoW is still the 2nd best MMO out there :)

I must admit I've been getting progressively bored with WoW, Just can't seem to get much fun out of it anymore - both before and after trying WotLK. I will however keep playing till my sub expires in Feb, if only to level all 3 of my chars to 80. Sick of playing Entropia Universe? Want to quit, but don't want your hard earned money to vanish? Give your items to ME :-) |

I love that quote. For the record. Warhammer has gone from 65 servers the first week down to 30 servers now. Not only were they not 'adding' servers at the 6 week point, they were already making announcements about the server merges. Meanwhile, in the 4 weeks since Wrath has been launched, Blizzard has added 26 new servers (that is for a game that is 4 years old). If you are an ex-wow player and want to come back. Scroll of Rez gives 7 free days, boost a character to 80 a realm and faction change. Send me PM for an invite. Only 1 per day available |

So the people couldn't be arsed to wait and see if warhammer would be better. I believe WoW when it was released was utter crap and was almost unplayable so WAR was going in the right direction its just that no one wanted to be patient.
Who care about what happened 3-4 years ago, atm there are many mmo out there which mostly cost u same price, $15. Just pick up one or two that worth your money. Why have to care about history? |

2 seasons gladiator, warlord pre-tbc WoW PVP doesn't take skill, it just takes habit and some twitch gaming for clutch blinds / kicks / deadly throws, and the willingness to chase pillar humping druids for 20 minutes 100 times a week (god arena is so dull) Warhammer PVP is far superior, it's actually armies fighting armies, with tanks pushing front lines of melee while casters and healers spread on a backline and watch out for stealthers, there's more tactics, more group play and just more FUN - Remember "fun"? What PVP was before we were mana burning healers until they went oom so we could win yet another boring rated arena match.

A year from now it'll all be exactly the same (safe a redesign by Mythic) Regarding the rewards for killing faction leaders: WAR environment is pretty static as well and at least more static than WoW. The phasing has a profound effect on the world and can't be easily dismissed due to blinded fanboysm (asumming of course we're not talking to a paid employee). WAR is about scenaros all the way up to T4. Hopefully the changes of the new patch will turn WAR 100% from an instance battleground game to the open world PvP game it was advertised to be. Until then, talking about fire in th neightboor house when your own is on fire is not very smart. |

Fun is when you struggle to defend your keep from that band of siegewagons rumbling in through your broken walls and just barely hold to win the fight.
Fun is fighting strong opponents with your team and have a team coordinate so well you can take on any class combo that comes up to you and adjust to those situations to whatever the opposite team throws at you.
Fun is ... ow sorry, what were you talking about again?
Ow tanks pushing frontlines with casters and healers spread on a backline and keeping eyes out for stealthers so they don't nab the objectives behind you? Ow sorry, that's AV not WAR.
Are you sure you remember fun? Because you sure play WoW a lot for a game you haven't had fun in for years apparently. And *why* exactly did you play Wotlk when you had such an amazing *other* game to keep you busy again? Ow right... you're full of it .. my bad :)

haha no :) Toy car pewpew game in wintergrasp is nothing like a proper pvp siege. Go farm tenacity buff in your carebear little siege instance and one-shot the lolkids and housewives who play WoW Arena is dull, and doesn't take much skill apart from not getting bored of doing the same thing over and over again in a box with pillars (and now without pillars!) Now imagine lines of tanks with shields, deflecting the damage from arrows and fireballs for their entire front line with hold the line and shield wall and guard on a melee dps, pushing forward while assassins pop up behind them to kill their healers - huge fights in the world, taking over entire game maps with large scale attacks, and then moving on to enemy fortresses, and finally into their capital city itself to destroy it and get tons of epic loot - all with much better graphics than blocky old wow graphics THAT is fun pvp :)

Greyhoof sure spend an insane amout of time in a game he hates. Assuming of course he's not spitting bullshit in all the threads I have the unfortunate displeasure to read his quoted posts. So far he's done all the dungeons, all the quests, all the instances in both normal and heroic mode in all expansions. He's been a warlord (insane no job 18+ hours grind for months) and season gladiator for months. Given the above, I'd estimate a 300 days played minimum for such a character (400 days would be more in line with these amazing achievements), which totals in 7200 hours or 1440 days if you played a more normal 5-hours per day. If I wanted to believe that you're a normal non employed person and not talking PR bullshit against a rival game, then I would understand you being burned out from the warlord grind alone. The thing is, all these hours spend should have been fun for you. A normal person will not spend this insane amount of his free time in the only life he gets to do stuff he loaths. And by free time I mean that you're not get paid, since good payment helps as a counterweight for unpleasant stuff. But this is a game for most of us, not work. I'd please ask people not to quote him, there is one (very obvious) troll I'd rather not have to deal when reading this site. |
