Lol. Actually, Polarization has a lot of impact. I think he's the most intelligent regular poster here, and makes by far the most informative posts. He has discovered more information about the game's developers than all the Darkfall fanboys put together.
But anyway, this update I actually am surprised about, I don't think it is bullcrap, I think it really does reflect the state of the game, and it is just like all the Darkfall skeptics have said: they don't have a game that is anywhere near ready to go live, and considering the history of the game's development, they probably never will. It is obvious from these screenshots and the post that Tasos made that their game world is not "online" in the sense of having a persistent game world with an active community of players in the world testing the game. They "logged in" for "a few hours" from the developers office and what we see is an empty game world with apparently few if any other players, and no evidence of a persistent, developing world in the sense of a functioning mmorpg. The one and only. |

Falls short of expectation is not quite so subjective. It doens't mean, I thought Age of Conan was going to be the best game ever, but it wasn't. Falls short of expectations means the game turns out to be similar to Dark and Light, and unplayable piece of junk. |

Everyone. Look on the bottom left corner of the screenshots. There's DF copyright text. What does that mean? Well, it means that these are not really "New Screenshots by Italian Visitors". These are just some pictures given to them by DF devs. Now I don't know if the italians had a chance to play or not but I do know they didn't take these screenshots. ----------------------------- |

Uhm, - yes, while there were still uploading, there was a screenshots clearly showing other beta players, including their names. many people saw it before it was taken off again. Does it prove anything? No, it obviously doesn't. However, why would anybody have to prove anything to you? - I don't think it would change anything anyway, so it's not worth the time invested. This constant crying for "proof" on the internet (and what tends to be brought up as proof in such cases) in the majority of cases isn't much more than a childish attempt at science methodology, let's just leave it at that. |

??? and the Italian people are just aventurine plants. I do really enjoy your habitual quirk of being wrong a large proportion of the time.
Why is everyone surprised that Italy got this first. Game is being launch in Europe first and they are the only ones who sent people over.

I am going to try my best to steer this thread towards some lighter conversation. For example did anyone else think the pictures of the character select screen was really well done? I was going to play Alfar at first but now I have no idea what race I want to be. Ork and Dwarf races look really well done to me. Also the Mahirim actually look like a beast race. This is very much more polished looking than the bi-pedal wolf race vanguard had that basically was just a human with a wolfs head on it. Any other thoughts on the races? Also I must say I relaly am enjoying the graphics they look really classic and I am sure will help in combating lag when big events happen. _____________________________ This is his story.... |

“We will allow media wider access to the beta soon enough, but for now this can only happen on site.” Why can this only happen on site when they are already in public beta, and still scheduled to finish open beta by early December and have an official launch date for 2008, all rather dubious. “We have not lifted the NDA, but we have allowed them access just for their review, but not to answer questions after this is out.” Translation: they can only see what we let them see, they can only say what we let them say. |

Last i check Polar can't even decipher intelligently the info he finds. Good at finding, just do not ask for any analysis unless you want loon speak. |

Got what first? A chance to view the Darkfall offices and a guided tour of the client? They aren't the first, it happened three or four years ago, and in fact it happened back in 2002 [maybe 2001, can't remember for sure] as well, although the client was very primitive then. The one and only. |

To elucidate - they were in a conference centre, running a beta build of the game on a wireless connection. I'm playing WAR (despite it sucking hard) while waiting for Darkfall, and it CTD'd twice yesterday. I didn't even lose connection, it just randomly crashed twice. I have an AMD 6000+ X2, 2gb ram and an 8800gt. So apparently WAR isn't ready for release either (actually, I wouldn't argue with you there...). I suppose 'all the facts' doesn't include the beta testers who've said the game plays pretty stable though, does it? |

(hint - none) It's not like Tasos did (or could) force them to write a good review (as you idiotically seem to be implying). |

As far as the first question, this is the norm for every game I have ever seen.... what would be the point of having a press review of the game if the content of the review was controlled by the developers? If gamers want to know the word from the devs about their game they will just go to the game's website. The one and only. |

Not allowing them to speak about certain elements of the game, doesn't mean that they won't allow them to give the game a bad review.
Keeping the NDA =! Telling them what to write.
As for the on site testing, I guess they have their reasons? |

Try to think things threw before you lash out emotionally. According to Tasos this game Has already been beta tested for months internally by “professional” testers and Bots And yet the only people who got to “review” this game so far had to travel to Athens to play the game in Aventurines offices for a few hours still bound by an NDA, only a few weeks from open beta starting and finishing and the game launching. This still looks like the promotional and marketing activity’s of a company that has a game that’s only in very early beta stage, and not what I would expect from a game that is going into open beta or launching this year. |
