Are you absolutely positively 100% confident and sure about this many more days? If so I will mark my calendar and this post should be pinned down. Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL! |

Yes. The developers said it will release in 2008, and you read all the wonderful progress reports Tasos posted from the closed beta testers. Nobody said there were terrible bugs that made the game unplayable, huge chunks of missing content, game crashes, major problems with balance, or crippling lag. Why would it not release in 2008? |

Lets face it, MMOs today are turning into single player console games with a chat box included. |

Did you not read all the wonderful reports on how great the land is from all the "people" that have seen it? "Everybody" said it the best piece of land they ever saw. No major problems there at all "everybody" says. Why wouldn't you buy this great chunk of land?

I am serious if the game releases before 2009, but if it does not, then I'm being sarcastic. |

Those 42 days are going to come and go REALLY fast. So if they want to have that open beta and release this year they better do it soon. Have to wait and see I guess.

No problem, just wondering. Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL! |

With the way Adventurine is handling their complete game, I don't see how anyone couldn't look at the situation from sarcastic-lenses. There's just no confidence from their end. The only thing reassuring from Adventurine's end was the "in-game" video, which was largely edited, and the second video where the connection feed was lost at the end. (don't know the cause, still didn't look good) Best thing they could do, would be to open up beta to include far more than the current 50 testers they have. If the game's truly ready for a 2008 release, it should easily be ready for half of the community. But whatever. As long as they keep screwing this simple process up, I'll keep my cynical smile on. ------------------------------- |

I don't think the important point is when they release the game, I think it is what state the game is in at that point. Reading the excerpts from the beta testers notes that there is a significant number of features not turned on yet and due to constant character wipes no one has gotten very far with their character. Sounds like they are in very early testing phases. 6 weeks is not near enough time to identify bugs, correct them, test and implement the fixes. Then what of the features not yet turned on? Are we to assume that they will call their open beta as a release? From the statements made by Adventurine up to now, that could be their game plan. All we can really do is wait and see, but I think they are doing it wrong, the game could be subject to a lot of negative publicity if they release it in a less than ready state. The genre has a long history of games that have done this and never really recovered. |

I say again, Who cares if the game releases in 2008. Is it not more important that the game releases in a good state then that it releases in December? Let them take as long as they want to release the game. And if it doesnt ever release that is fine too. All we wasted was some typing. Perhaps you got a case of Carpal tunnel but i doubt anything worse. |

If it releases in December it won't be in a playable state. It'll require hotfixes until late next year to be anywhere near finished. |

Originally posted by Ihmotepp Just a note on your thread. Name me one date that Adventurine has met......oh right you can't. Even their beta, that was supposed to start in October did not start until mid November. Pretty easy to construe that thought of this game releasing this year is pretty whimsical. Anything is possible, but I don't even think that Tasos is ready to subject this game to a huge wave of negative publicity if the game releases with major issues. |
