On the server where I play, the T4 RvR zones are active on a nightly basis. If you're looking for that kind of a fight, it is out there for you. Why? Well, it's the 6th most populated server and there are a good number of people at T4 level. However that number still only represents about 8% of the total population on either side. I think that bodes quite well in the next couple of months as far as what we're going to see for ORvR. The thing I would be more concerned about is going to be the lag issue for all those players being all out there at once. As far as activity level goes though, I don't think that lack of numbers in the T4 RvR lake areas will be an issue. The T1-T3 lakes is another issue. Something else to think about is that there's a built-in disincentive to run scenarios after a while. Once your Renown reaches 38-40 you aren't going to be getting much renown out of Scenarios, even when you're running with a guild party and winning all of them. That disincentive will eventually cause those min-maxers (personally I despise that kind of play) to leave scenarios due to the fact that they are able to get Rank faster in ORvR. |

In regards to the original post, I was just queued up for Reikland for at least 2 hours. Folks are doing scenarios, but still mostly Nord... ~Ripper |

The activity in the rvr is not the problem, its the dullness of the rvr. It feels like something quickly slapped together with little thought just to have something there on release, instead of a sophisticated pvp realm vs realm warground. Like if they took everything good about doac's rvr, stripped it of everything but the very basics, then slapped it on a quickly done pve world. Mythic sacrificed everything that was excellent about doac to make a mainstream wow-clone. Argh. (no, not an insult to wow, just a reference to a particular mmo genre) ---- |

ok here is teh update for Europe
We will be deploying version 1.0.5 to all servers tomorrow morning (19th November). All servers will be closed at 8am CET in order to begin the patch process and we expect the operation to be complete by lunchtime. As always we will keep you fully informed of the patching process. You can find out what the new patch brings on our 1.0.5 release notes page. After the patch, the Heavy Metal event will also be live. You can read about it in our special features page. Each day of the event will see a new daily task for you to complete. We will inform you via the news of these each day, the first one however - which you will need to complete tomorrow - is to take part in the Reikland Factory scenario. This is a new scenario which has been introduced specifically for this event. Battle for control of the vital engineering works and, not only will you get the first look at this superb scenario, you'll also be on your way to unlocking one of the new careers before everyone else! Keep an eye on the news every evening to find out what the task for the next day will be. |

1.1 is the major open RvR boosting patch. Don't expect to see really crazy open RvR improvements until then. 1.1 is slated for December. |

My "issues" with WAR change as time pass. sometimes becuase Mythic fix them or sometimes my "issues" end up not been important or real at all. My actual problem with WAR is related with ORvR. There is no incentive to defend anything. Controling a zone takes long time so there isnt an incentive to defend the zone. The defense can be done even by PvE and/or not showing at all at ORvR!!! More than that, there is an explicit incentive for us to trade keeps with the enemy. I hope they fix this. There are starting to make some improvements to zone control (like scenarios to have less impact and reverting the change they made to the time neccesary to control a zone... making it again as it was before they slowed it some weeks ago... I hoep they fixed the exploits used to flip zone in just few mintues, altough lol). There are many ideas going around in forums (Darkness Fall style content, PoC style content, something like relics, turning BFOs into more defendable places -like towers in some cases-, more exp/rps for defending, PQs for denfending, etc). I had sent feedback about all these. I hope other people that think this is a problem send feedback too.

I'm totally with you. Honestly if Patch 1.1 doesn't introduce something to make Defense a viable play option they might as well cut the RvR Lakes out of the game. You'd think they would be aware of the fact that there's no reason to defend you gain nothing of value other than pride which is not enough in today's gaming world. Even if its some sort of INF you earn every 10 mins you hold off attackers that you can turn in for a random loot roll or some sort of PQ it'd be better than what it is now. I wish they'd just tell us some of what they're planning keeping it a surprise at this point is doing them more harm then good. |

In my opinion Reikland Factory requires much more tactic than, say, Mourkain Temple; instead of just zerging one place and then having one additional object you need to split up and cap points, and hold. I image playing Reikland as an organized team would be great fun, but in the disorganized zergmob that I have to stick with it's a fairly boring experience. Scenarios should be zerg encouraging in WAR since zerging is the only tactic ever really being used. I like the setting and look of it though, a bit too small for such a large host though. |

yesterday's quest was to click the Hearld NPC *yawn* and the influence that gives is enough to get the first reward for such a fun event. That trophy is the worst reward I have seen yet, but you get what you deserve for pretty much doing nothing ... And today Saturday I went to check what was today's quest and the tome of knowledge was not updated, the quest is not available yet. Then according to Mythic there will be server maintenance around 10:00am EST. Something went wrong to actually do this on a Saturday. |

http://www.curse.com/blogs/ahzeel/archive/2008/11/18/heavy-metal-task-list.aspx That link is the list of the Heavy Metal tasks by day. The thing that has always dismayed me about Mythic (from a professional standpoint) is that they assume we're all idiots. The downtimes for 'server stability' (as I see it) are all to add or remove the live event tasks/components. More importantly, they always over estimate their downtimes by such a wide margin as to make end users wonder if they are confident enough of their own team doing the roll-outs. Sure you build a margin of error into any server downtime but the majority of the server downs since Beta have been off by more than 50%. Bringing a server down during prime time play hours on a Saturday is just plain stupid but then to say it's server stability when in reality it's (IMO) they only way that can makes aspects of a special function (ie piece meal patches on a daily basis) is insulting. |

Reikland Factory is a really good scenario. Easily up there with Gates of Ekrund, for instance. Very nice addition to the game. Now we just need 1.1 to hit in december to promote more open RvR. |

I wish scenarios were more interactive. Standing around a flag and wait for the blue or red bar to get full is geting old. |
