I mean surely they would want an editor or two from the largest MMORPG site on the net to be involved in their beta. No?

They also did not hold a Beta give away here even if it was for 50 logins.

Something as SIMPLE as that would give them so much credibility. But again.. for some STRANGE reason..  it can't be done. Every other game does it..

This is the part where the Darkfallers will come in saying it's because Tasos and everyone else at Darkfall thinks mmorpg.com is shit and unworthy of their great game.

No I think it's because they're too busy giving them all out to those 3 million followers that Tasos said they have.

I have given up hope on Darkfall long ago, so if it goes in beta / release after all, then I will be pleasantly surprised.

But when that time comes, EVE will have probably sucked me in so hard, that I can't ever leave it ( walking in space stations, zooming in on planets, interaction with planets ... on top of factional warfare, more and better pve missions and eventually 0.0 warfare ... )

Because it's friends and family only. They want to keep the horror of their unfinished game well and truly locked away from the general public. It would only take one NDA leak to reveal the sham.

The difference is, I trust CCP when it comes to the direction they say EVE is headed, as well as what theyre going to implement , theyve got a good track record. What does Aventurine have? Um.........uh........well......er..........

There is actually enough people here saying that they are in the beta to assume that some people are in it.

That doesn't mean that the game will release in december, it can still be 6-9 months away but it does give a hint that it isn't total vaporware.

People are saying theyre in beta just to rile up the boards. No one has offered a lick of proof. And as I understand it, until a game is released to the public, its vaporware.

If I was in Beta I would hop on down to the local library...  upload a ton of screenshots to photobucket or wherever.. and even record and upload a short video clip on Char creation with total anonymity...

No one is in Beta beyond some cherry picked people.

Indeed. Any company that lets Joe Public enter a Closed Beta knows full well that there will be leaks. If they think everyone is going to adhere to an NDA then more fool them.

Paid Beta testers do not leak. That kid from down the road who got into one of the most anticipated and controversial Beta's of the year? I think you know the answer.
