If they would of had 3 additional zones in game to aid in the lvling process they could of then spent all their time on part of the game that matters most....endgame. Now if they would of done that, they would of retained a majority of their player base instead of losing it. imo back in the design stages of the game they would of intended to have areas like this in game....they just ran out of time. Saying that areas like this were not intended at release are just short sighted. As for the guy using wow as an expample of lack of content. I played from beta and not once did I grind mobs for exp other than questing. And I must say the lvling zones in the wow expansion including the quests are putting other games out there to shame. They really are that good.
I'm a WOW-fanboy. I just wanted to point out that even WOW had to add 'leveling content' to their game. It wasn't to bash WOW, it was just a truthful statement. The other big thing is simply that WOW is the exception. There isn't another game out there where you DIDN"T have to grind mobs to level. WOW is much better than everyone in this regard. If you are an ex-wow player and want to come back. Scroll of Rez gives 7 free days, boost a character to 80 a realm and faction change. Send me PM for an invite. Only 1 per day available |

Exactly. What about all the people including myself, who posted a thread on official forums stating *im cancelling my account* and then giving a long list of constructive critisms explaning why and how the game could be improved. These threads are then locked saying its against forum rules to state your leaving...despite it being a constructive thread. That was just a lame loophole to give mods the power to close threads that showed any negativity towards the game. Never before has such forum policing been seen on an official forum before. In the end it just made Funcom look pathetic and desperate. But think what you want...85% of the original player base tend to agree with my perspective. |

WoW is really the exception to the grind that dominates other games. I picked up AoC a little while ago to play with a friend. We are enjoying our leveling together. We recently did pyramid of the ancients. It was a lot of fun. I am busy with WoTLK atm, but I am looking forward to seeing the rest of Ymir's pass. |

Where did we pull that percentage from? Broad sweeping 'aged' statements really are not relevant anymore. The thing is FC let everyone know the rules of their forum right up front if peopel get pissy because they can't stick to the rules then there really isn't anything else to say. Needless to say I haven't seen one Ymir Pass constructive thread locked and only half a dozen posts from people with genuine issues from which the community is helping out. Far more less QQ than anyother update = resounding implementation.

Selective enforcement of the rules, Anarchy Online forums have the exact same rule set, yet posting 'Goodbye' threads (even with criticisms) is a long standing tradition there and aren't locked / deleted. |

I think you posted them in the wrong forum topic. There are plenty of good bye threads in the correct forum topic. |

Yes, I think Ymirs pass, even the upcomming Tarrantia Commons and House Of Crom are ALL additions originally ment for the release of the game.. But as we all know time ran out "very fast" for FunCom and they had to start with altering the other dungeons that they even released Aka "Black Castle" etc because they were mostly just tunnels with mobs instead of dungeons.. Even thou it's great that Ymirs Pass is finally there... /junker |

85% of 800,000 is 680,000....which = 120,000 players currently playing. You do the maths. Or do you think more than 120,000 people are still playing the game? Maybe you think that less than 120k people are playing AoC. (this was only a guess on my part by the way) Avery you dont think the forums in AoC were over moderated? They were on the EU forums trust me. Was an ill attempt of quasing any negativity which resulted in more hate directed at funcom from its player base. But ofc you must be right and the 100's of thousands that left uhappy are all wrong. Anyway you obviously and many many others still enjoy the game and wish you the best of luck, and hope the game turns out eventually what you all expected it to be. Personally I have higher standards in an mmo. |
