I got so much |
With all due respect to Blizzard as excelent company , I think it is time to say NO to World of Warcraft!
12 million users = 12 million reasons for game developers to continue feeding us theme park simplified grind based carrot on the stick abominations they today call MMO If you go and buy WoTLK you are voting with your wallet for continuation of the trend that destroyed Sandbox , complex virtual worlds.
I just want to remind you of that. Its up to us gamers to vote for a change now.

Just wait for Darkfall or something. You know there's going to be millions of people who pay for the same recycled crap they've done for the last 2 years. -------------------------------------- Order of the White Border. |

Ok where should we cast our vote then? Tell us all the awesome sandbox game that deserves our votes.
Call me silly, but I think any company that puts together a well built, polished, fun MMO deserves all the votes it gets. Sandbox or not.
Blindly throwing money at a POS game, sandbox or not, send out the wrong message to companies which is why there are no decent sandbox games.

But it's fun and I'm looking forward to it, getting it at midnight. Sandbox, complex world?!??! Can't I just go outside and be in a complex sandbox world. I just wanna go home and play a game and leave my complex sandbox at work where it belongs. |

The only thing I could agree about WoW is it creates ADD morons who usually don't give other games a fair shot because they're not like the polished, 4 year old full of content game they just came from. That's just a side effect I guess. -------------------------------------- Order of the White Border. |

After Darkfall releases, for the next 4 or 5 years, all games will be Darkfall clones. People will wonder if any game can ever compete with the success of Darkfall. It's not up to us gamers, it's up to the developers of Darkfall. |

But, but... I enjoy WoW. I have fun when I play and I'm just about to get tons of new content. I realize it's to blame for every woe the MMO Industry is in at the moment but it keeps pushing out tons of free content. It's easy to play and I don't feel like I need to invest 20 to 30 hours a week into it just to keep up. Even though Blizzard has 12 Million + Subs I actually feel like they listen to at least some of their player base. They keep improving little things in the game like Finding Groups, Over Dependency on gear, Small class issues, searing differences in Racial Abilities, Mounts, Gold influx and many, many other things. It's easy to run on my computers. I know it's not the DX10, needs 10 Gigs of Ram and a QUAD CORE Galliath Proc type of game that has photo-real graphics but I'll be darned if I don't get a smile everytime I go back to stormwind and it still looks and "feels" like warcraft. Better yet, I can play it on my iMac 24", iMac 20" and my powerbook when I'm away on business. I know it's not "awesome-sauce" to cater a game to us Apple people but c'mon... that has to be worth something, no? And I know it's not as great as "insert next new great game to be released" when it comes to PVP, PVE, Arena, Questing, BattleGrounds, Trading, Community, Globalt Events, Crafting, Resourcing but it has a little of all of that and most of it... is pretty darn OK. AND again, I don't feel like I need to invest 20 to 30 hours a week in any of those things to be amused by any of them. And I know it's always been a flawless victory with ZERO problems but overall, in the last few years that I've been playing WoW I've never encountered a problem that's been all that bad. The one time I had customer support was plentiful and helpful. I still to this DAY have a character in EQ2 (my first druid) that is lost in never never land... and SEO never helped me. Listen... You can tell me to blindly leave WoW because you think it's best for the industry and you can certainly tell me that it's Blizzards fault that every other development company can't manage to come up with a decent product but what counts to me as a long time MMO'er and gamer who's grown up and wants to play a good game is that I can play something that can put a smile on my face, gives me the opportunity to connect with my friends, shows me a good time on those long winter nights when I've got nothing else to do and offers a host goodies to play with. Until you can sit there and tell WoW can't do that... I'm sorry, you'll just have to deal with that press release coming out of Blizzard that announces 15 Million Subs. |

No one is obligated to spend time/money on a new game for months/years just so that a new MMO can have a chance to MAYBE get better and be worthy.
It is the responsibilty of game designers to make their products competitive at launch and not xpect people to fund live development. |

That's a pretty funny joke..... Oh wait you're serious. If DF doesn't pull a DnL it still won't even be a pimple on the ass of WoW. I stopped supporting WoW years ago before someone calls me a fanboi. |

Agreed. People are voting with their wallets, and most are voting for WoW (and I doubt a lot of people will buy it feeling that the game sucks). If you don't like it then feel free not to vote for it, but I think it's silly telling people not to buy it especially if they enjoy it. -------------------------- |

Well I've played WoW, and I don't feel like playing it any more. But you can't really blame Blizzard for all the WoW clones out there. WoW is a fairly good game in many ways, even though I'm fed up with it. |

lol...Though I think Darkfall looks like a decent game, and I'll be sure to give it a try, I really don't think it'll have a big following like WoW, just because it is not as simple, or as easy. PvP drives at least 25% of casual gamers away on it's own. Hardcore full loot PvP drives even more away. Not to say that it's bad, or that I don't personally enjoy it, but it does take the fun away for some people. Not to mention the foul mouthed hooligans who delight in making people's gaming expirience miserable. If everyone approached PvP in an honorable way, then perhaps PvP centric MMO's wouldn't have such a bad rep, but that's not going to happen... and niether is Darkfall going to be the next WoW. |

the only true player versus player game that will ever come close to wow in turms of player base is CoD 4 perhaps the new CoD or the elusive and highly unlikely Halo 4. Darkfall will be lucky to garner WAR's sub numbers much less WoW's. Get your head outta the clouds bro. Welcome to reality. |

Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL! |
