I am having fun playing WAR. Maybe its the altaholic in me - I have two toons in their low 20's and a third on the way. I started with a warrior priest - swapped to a Witch Hunter and am now working on a Swordmaster. As a casual gamer - 10 hours a week its a slow trip to 40. I resubscribed for 90 days. |

I'm also an alt-oholic and am having a great time with WAR. I think a lot of people are enjoying WAR, it's just not cool to admit to liking an mmo these days. |

I know what you mean. I have about 2characters in the mid 10's and 2 higher level characters. It's important to find the class you enjoy playing before you get to endgame. Planning on rolling a knight come december so it oughta keep me busy for a while. |

WARHAMMER = ALTaholic Gamers DREAM.. With HEAVY METAL patch being introduced very soon, I can't wait to try the Blackguard out, it was the class I wanted to play, the Blackguard is just another ALT to add to my arsenal, but I think I will finish leveling my Chosen which is a 36 and re-roll a Blackguard as my main alt, if there is such I think called, main alt.. lol |

I haven't cancelled mine because I forgot to! It's nothing against the game - I enjoy it. I've just been swamped with school... soon to be student teaching.

Most of the cancellation remarks seem to be coming from T3+ players to be honest :)

Not really, it's just not cool to over-hype a crappy game. I mean come on, how many "GREATEST GAME EVA!!1!" threads did we see the first week? The game isn't that good imo, and neither are any of the other mmos coming out "these days" Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic |

And it's just not cool to dislike a game because others like it - so get it over it Abrahmm. All games have been over-hyped, no doubt, but that does not give you any rights to ditch others who like a game. So how about you just leave it be and play whatever game you like and we'll all play what we like. That leaves all parties happy and not bumping into eachother, cause frankly if you dislike a game I play (and I play lots more than just WAR - I have 5 active MMO subscriptions at any time) I honestly don't care to read about how much you dislike a game every damn day I log on MMORPG.com, much like WoW-fanboi bodypass. So please - you don't like WAR, so stick to non-WAR forums ok? We don't get in your way and you don't get in our way. *cheers*

Single char focusser here and I still love the game as well in t4. Bastion Stairs is a lot of fun, loads of RVR in Praag, which is a very nice place to have skirmishes in, t4 scenario's finally popping consistently. Me luvs it. Things will get even better when most of the launch rollers made it into t4 which is happening about now on our server. There will be more commitment to RVR when most of the players are level 40 and don't have a need for xp anymore. Let the massacre begin! |

The first 2 years of DAoC were the best 2 years in mmorpg history. |

I honestly think its funny..people were complaining about tier 3 and 4 like, a week after the game came out. If 90% of the population has not reached tier 4..of course you're not going to like it and you're going to be bored. Maybe you should have stopped and smelled the roses a bit instead of powergaming to the top where there's no one to play with. I've taken the slower route, when scenarios and pq's get tedious, organize a keep raid or three, knock on some doors and draw the opponents onto the field, it's a blast.
Go do an instance in the capital city. In tier 3? go do gunbad dungeon a couple times. There are plenty of things to do. Granted, the game has it's problems, but most of the people I hear quitting either power leveled to rank 40 and got bored because there's not enough people there yet, or they did scenarios until they got bored, then quit. Get out of the scenarios/power grind and go explore the game some. I'm in tier 3 now, and have even run in tier 4 rvr with my guild just for kicks. We have a blast. We have days where we outnumber the enemy, and days where they outnumber us. All told, the numbers of rank 40's is close on both sides. Everyone won't enjoy this game, but lots of people quit for the wrong reasons.

In the months prior to release there were swathes of 'WAR is going to pwn <insert game here>' and 'WAR is going to be the best MMO ever' posts. The same happened with AoC. Quite frankly, such blind arrogance is extremely annoying and although I do not condone it, I can understand why people like to flame when said game doesn't meet its expectations and the fanboys are left with egg on their face. If everyone was a little more humble (and perhaps cynical?) then there wouldn't be as many flamewars, I'm sure of it. |

lol, please... go read around on the forums ,like on the VN right now where there's a thread about that the first 2 tiers were actually the best part of the game. Also what part of "it *seems* to me" gave you the impression i was stating facts anywhere? Go read around, that's what it *seems* to me, and it should to you as well. The comment was on the cancellation remarks on the forums, it's easy enough to check, just read them and think instead of turn red and start to counter it.

Well we had Markoros and Darkpony of course and a few dozens more to do the hype. God knows how many alts some created to hype the game. The curious thing was, some don't even show up anymore. Now - again - MMORPG.COM has as a result a mediocre MMORPG with a score of 8.6 something on its pages. Good negative pubicity for the genre I would say. "Tha greatest game EVA....". Of course not. I am very very happy I gave that much needed counter opinions at that time. I said it would be boring after playing it for 7 days for a lot of players. Now after the dust settles, who still thinks this is the best MMMORPG? No one of course. Because the only valid rating system is based on long term paid subscriptions. That's the only valid rating system because it is based on money ! Every child can give a 0 on a free website. |

woo and bodypass joins the fray... might as well close the topic now - this is one guy you can't convince of anything what so ever. Anyways - almost a valid post you makes bodypass. I'll give you that - although I'll reply real fast with one thing. Just because no one is screaming "WAR IS THE BEST GAME EVAH" anymore doesn't mean your World of Warcraft is. Far from perfect mind you. And there has been just as many countless posts claiming WoW is the "BEST GAME EVAH!!!" as well as WAR has had. Time to face it once again bodypass and the rest of you people out there. Your PERSONAL opinion does not make the world change nor does it reflect what the rest of the world feels. |

Um, he said success was based on long term subscriptions and cash, wich is an opinion as close to fact as you can get almost and not a bad one really. People can claim a game is the best all they want.. and it *may* even be, for them, but a game's success unfortunately these days also relies on financial succes and that is where WAR will have to prove itself.
MMo's live on longterm subscriptions (succesful ones anyway).
