Definitely Eve Online. If someone blows your ship away, you could lose tens of millions of ISK (in-game currency) if not hundreds of millions. Then they scoop your cargo and any modules drifting about to stop you salvaging what you can, then they extract useful metals, etc. from the actual debris. If they so wish they can blow away your escape pod, possibly costing you millions in cyborg Implants and killing your character. If you were rash enough not to have an up to date clone (I've seen it happen, though it's hard to believe) you could lose skills that took days, weeks or even longer to learn.... in Real Time.

There was also that sayha F2P game where you could choose to be in perma-death risk by becoming stronger. Can get quite harsh if you get to develope that character. |

Shaiya is another crappy asian item shop grinder and the item shop sells pills to prevent permadeath and you better believe that anyone who leveled up to a permadeath option character to receive the extra stats is using those pills. Therefore it is not a real permadeath game. Only games with mandatory permadeath without the ability to prevent it other than staying alive, qualify as a game with permadeath. |

The one missing from your list was EQ1. It isn't permadeath, and death is not as bad as it used to be, but it is still a very challenging MMO. |

Sounds like we are looking for the same game. Something where death means more then a temporary stat reduction or minor XP hit. BUT not a game where death kills your toon right off or a server where its just pkers (UO siege perilous shard) with a bunch of little kids bitch talking you as they crush your character over and over. Closest I have found to this is Asherons Call. Fantastic game. AC and UO are my all time favorites I think. Right now, I have started playing Anarchy Online again (it's free!). It's a pretty fun game and it will hold me over until Darkfall comes out. If that ends up sucking, I'll probably go back to AC or UO. If your interested in playing any of these, give me a shout and we can hook up in game. DD |

You should be looking at "Earthrise". Release in 2009, and will have full loot upon death :) |

But in AC.. you didn't lose xp.. I had to point that out..
There isn't a current game that actually punishes you with hours of gameplay loss. I liked Asheron's Call because dying did mean something.. but it didn't mean you wasted the last 4 hours (or in the cse of eve the last 3 months) to die to a random disconnect "Luckily I know that while you make nonsnese baiting threads that get locked....threads I make get sticked by the mods on this forum...." -imbant (greatest board warrior EVER) |

Eve is Fi, thats sound realy bad to me. For a medieval/fantastic MMO you must to wait for Darkfall. Or... Runescape in PVP servers: all items loss in death with looting (risk without gain is bad right?) Runescape graphic are so bad, many kids play it, but ho well its fun for PVP... -A LOT of people (200.000 at same times) - So Fun to hunt A LOT OF scared people - Large fight without lag (easy 500Vs500) -No safe zone, excepted the bank. - Zoneless -Sandbox mmo - Free and no DL.
Of course Runescape is so bad for PVE, but ho well its fun'n'Hardcore for PVP. Aslo its skills-based, class-free like UO.
