Brad McQuaid hyped lies. Mark Jacobs didn't. There is nothing to comparate.

Don't get me started. If I were to start on all the lies of MJ here I would probably have been banned in less than a minute. Let me put it this way, I don't like Michael Jacobs for the reason that he has come across as a man of double standards also ready to stretch to is unprofessional means of communicating when he feel that is beneficial. He flames Blizzard for their comments about WAR not really being that ready at launch. Then he flamed FC for not launching a ready product. What the hell, he can not post with such double standards, and in particular when he is a CEO (at least he is supposed to be). It's juvenile and those guys should refrain themselves from Trolling and flameing. Brad McQuaid I say sure as hell

No... you are not getting it. MJ was flaming AoC in a full fledged interview and can not even take one side note from Paul Barnett who thought it was somewhat questionable that Mythic did not raise NDA till the day they launched (as in Mythic seemed to hide something, like i.e a tonn of bugs). If you in the first place want to reduce yourself from a CEO to a forum troll by flaming competitors in the industry you at least have to be ready to take very innocent and correct remarks from others. MJ is a forum bully. That's my point. Double standards!!

No, MJ is not the new Brad.

Having said that, I had a lot of respect for MJ pre WAR lauch. But his behaviour lately, has been extremely unprofessional and I've lost all respect for the dude.

Ie, going crazy after that comment from Blizzard, which imo was no big deal, screaming "the gloves are now off" and whatever, acting like a spoiled child against ppl on forums, just because they don't bend down and worship him/WAR, etc.

Well, when it comes to mature, professional behaviour, or should I say the lack of, then maybe MJ = Brad after all.

No, but WAR rerleased too early with cut out content too. Complaining on other people and do the same misstake yourself isn't really smart. He also said that server merges is a sign of a dying game...

MJ do have said a few dumb things lately, just admit it. Being smug that WAR would be a huge success and AoC would fail totaly isn't really something a big man would do. Most devs really don't complain about what they don't like in another game.

I have nothing against War or Mythic but bad mouthing other devs is just stupid. You don't really see the bosses of Blizzard, NC soft or even Smedley do that.

No, not at all, in my opinion.  Also, comparing War's release with AoC's release is laughable in my opinion.. I preordered both games, and played both at release.  I didn't have 1/10th of the issues with War that I did with AoC. Actually, I was lucky not to have as many hardware problems running AoC that many others did, but I had a flawless experience with War.. Only one CTD during preview weekend, not to mention I enjoyed my time a hell of alot more in War then AoC.. I actually wanted to log in the next day.  War is not perfect, but I've enjoyed my time in War a great deal more then my experience with AoC at release.

*Nods*.. I remember his interview, right before NGE hit he said he was playing WOW and enjoying it while his developers frantically tried to make SWG a better game.

What I wouldn't give to knock his $%^&ing teeth in and not go to jail for it.

Almost forgot, no Mark is not the new Brad, he actually cares about his game, the people that play it and his staff.

Mark Jacobs is standing up for what he believes in, which I respect. Unfortunately he also comes across as very bombastic, which I think benefits them little or nothing if things go well (except build some ego on their/his end) but will make the crash a lot worse if things go bad.

I hope for his employees' sake that things go well.

Well they're both humans, but other than that there isn't much similary. Best example of how they are different is of course Mark's honesty vs. McQuaid's dishonesty.

If there was another McQuaid, it will be Garriott. Though  MJ is still a fricken jackass though.
