This is a tragic loss to Funcom and I hope these thieves are caught. The devs at AOC put alot of hard work into  this game and someone just feels they can steal it.

Maybe Blizzard stole them they steal everything else.

Yes all the hard work they put into listing features on all those boxes.  Damn those "thieves".  They are going to steal all $7 dollars of the sales revenue those boxes would have sold.  Seriously though, what on earth are some criminals going to do with 4,000 copies of Conan.

*All kidding aside, I think it sucks that this happened.  I do hope they get caught, but I can't help but giggle at karma in a way that I should not be happy to admit*

Never let anyone tell you that karma doesnt have a sense of humor.

ha some store figured a way to make money off old AoC boxes.  Hire someone to steal them and then make an insurance claim for the loss.  Slick, very slick.

MMOs require more reasoning and imagination than most stereotypically ''adult'' activities.

You know, I can't think of any other reasonable explaination than that.  If someone is going to go through all the trouble of stealing 4000 boxes of something they would at least know what they were stealing and have some preconceived plan on how they would sell them.  So either the thieves know nothing about computer games--which games are popular and which are not, or they stole them to pull off an insurance scam as you suggest.

My Top 3 List:
1) EverQuest
2) Dark Age of Camelot
3) Star Wars Galaxies

Too bad they didn't catch it on video. So I'll go with the inside job for an insurance claim.

That wouldn't be far from the truth, I bet we see a big influx of cheap copies of AOC on good old ebay...

Don't know if you can run it?

Stolen games don't only appear in flea markets/car boot sales, they also appear in reputable high street videogame stores that sell second hand games.

I very much doubt they'll be able to do anything with them. In the sort of area's they frequent the average house hold will not have a Pc that's able to run the original Everquest, never mind a MMO like AOC. You can bet they were all hoping for GTA IV for their Xbox360, which is stolen too.

lol, they wouldn't even be able to shift those on Milton keynes market.  I guess they were unlucky in finding AOC copies :P

They could probably sell the DVD boxs, though....

Ya know, if they get caught, that would make a valid defense.
