Police in Bradford UK, are on the hunt for a gang of game thieves who made off with 4000 copies of Age of Conan on PC.
 

Two pallets of games went missing from the back of a lorry some time between 10pm on Tuesday, October 28, and 7am on Wednesday. With an RRP of £39.99 each, we make that out as £159,960 worth of goods.

I think the "thieves" are former AoC players and wanted to spare anyone else the disappointment and frustration of buying and "playing" AoC. They are actually peforming a community service.

If that was an unlabeled box they stole, those are going to be some sorely disappointed theives.

Good stuff. They won't be getting much money from the games and if sold a few would be backtracked if not many to the store, lol.  Either they were doing a favor for the public or they are stupid.

If you've ever worked in shops like Besy Buy, Frys, etc.

Most the stuff thats on pallets are in lil plastic totes if small enough. Like video games.

Odds are they didn't even know what they were taking.  I'd be furious.

Yea I used to shift manage the hollywood bowl up there fair few years ago, things were always been nicked :)

Nice to know the pubs and restaurants in Bradford won't be short of beer mats for awhile....

....then again, won't be long before we see captioned pictures of the heist "Epic Fail"

Lets hope for the gamers that get AoC at low cost price that FC doesn't have a way  to track record activation codes.

LOL, so they did a favor to rest of us right?

The thieves most likely played Warcraft or Warhammer and had a mental breakdown due to absolute boredom often caused by those two games.

That is what I was thinking.

My first thought was 'insurance fraud'.  Some poor gamestore owner had two pallets of AOC sitting in his back room for 5 months, so he 'accidently' leaves them sit on the loading dock over night.. probably even put a lit cigeratte on top of them :)

I don't know the inner workings of it.. but I would think that the activation codes for the boxes would be traceable.
