Interesting, I was not expecting this to release until at the earliest December. Some nice things in this patch. |

"The introduction of In-game Subscription Services. You can now convert your 60-day EVE Time Codes (ETCs) into two 30-day items in game. These “30-Day Pilot’s Licenses” can be traded freely through all regular means (via market or contract or directly between players) and can be activated at any time." This immediately caught my attention. Doesn't this facilitate the purchase of ISK with real-world money? I thought EVE was one of many games that discourage such activities. (I don't play EVE, I just follow news on it.) |

It has been that way for ages now.. You can give someone Isk, he gives you game time, and vice versa. This makes it impossible for people to make real money out of isk trading, and thus the only people who can use it are legit players. It is, if you ask me, a pretty neat way to circumvent a lot of problems you have with rmt. You have it under control, you can see how money is flowing and affecting things, and you get free subs out of it, which are even used by legit players who populate the game world and make it into what it is. And as you can't buy yourself to victory in eve..more comedy killmails for happy bato.. //edith: Just to make it clear, the isk trading with timecards is protected by ccp, and thus perfectly safe. There are of course people who try to compete with that, but most major gold selling sites (which i won't link here ;) ) are permanently out of isk for eve.. |

Exactly to discourage RMT. People with time can pay the subscription with in-game currency by buying a game time code purchased with $ by those without time. As you can see demand is limited, you can't directly buy ingame currency and you can't buy as much as you want. CCP doesen't win anything with that because at the end just 2 subscriptions have been paid, both paid by the player who sold the game time code to the other. |

A team can never lose, even if it is defeated, as long as it remains a team. |

In-game trading of ETC in my opinion is one of the best idea's EVE has had. It rewards there hardcore players, since those players will be able to buy ETC with isk, it makes EVE more money from people who can afford it, and it does it all without giving the people with big wallets a advantage over us poor folk. Very nicely done CCP ![]() |

Sweet jesus, Stackless IO and switchover to 64-bit, sounds like this could be the best EVE expansion maybe ever!

Well.. this is the worst expansion ever! It would be an industrialist expansion but that part is now on the 'side-notes' |

Can you explain how this process of buying game time with ingame currency exactly works? What is a players suppose to do in order to buy game time this way? |

Currently a new player can buy timecodes online and sell them through the Eve forums for isk. The transaction is completed ingame. Established players can thus play Eve for free if they're rich enough ingame. The new player can actually buy characters with that ISK, too. |

I look forward to flying the Orca and trying my hand at alchemy. Also will be fun to get some decoration and way of proofing how good I should be at flying some ships and doing stuff in EVE :) |
