When this happens, I will either agree or not based on whether I think that it is a topic that our readers would like to hear about. Don`t mistake this with a blind `sure, I`ll put up your promo material`. That`s just not how it works. That being said, sometimes interviews or articles are about something being added to the game or similar and sometimes they`re more confrontational. More often though, I approach a company about wanting to do an interview about topic X. None of our AoC articles recently have been presented by Funcom. The 3.0 interview was just that.. information about a major update. Following this kind of thing is not unusual. Beyond that, I suppose there`s the review we posted (giving the game a 6.0) and Ben`s interview with a guild which had both positive and negative points. I think though that your argument loses merit when you actually look at the numbers presented in my original response to your post. Try as hard as you wantt, but not everything is a conspiracy. I don't see why eveyone has to jump on the AoC hate bandwagon, give it a rest and get some fresh air... The games had it's problems but at least there trying to rectify it. All the other MMOs out at the moment aren't much better imo other than Lotro and WoW and they have had a few years on them. It's kinda funny that all this hate was going to VG but now all the trolls have jumped ship to this game and if Darkfall is a mess....oh dear I feel sorry for it. MMOs these days suck due to the whiny public who screams for million of new features in one game which then turns into a mess (aka AoC). ------------------------------- |

Strange that you can get exclusive video interviews with Erling from Funcom, however with the offical announcement of SWTOR MMORPG.com brings us zero video interviews. Being a site dedicated to MMO's i would have thought you guys would be on the ball, guess i was wrong. Seems Gamespot bet you to it. |

That isn't fair though. Of course a game that is struggling is going to offer to do a lot more 'free' advertising interviews. Bioware is much more controlled, they are going to sprinkle the interviews out over time and just because MMORPG.com hasn't gotten a big interview with Bioware doesn't mean they haven't been trying. I can imagine EE has a lot of free time on his hands. If you are an ex-wow player and want to come back. Scroll of Rez gives 7 free days, boost a character to 80 a realm and faction change. It's one of the more boring games I ever have played. I think I'll take a stroll over to the WOW forums in gact just to post a little bit about that later today. |

Of course if you are willing to step and up and defend them and talk about how great the perfectly timed release was and how they didnt take any promised features out the game or treat their customers in a less than aceptable way or if players asking for things jto just work work reasonably well, then I guess you could , in some alternate universe, blame the customers for the massive disdappointment that AOC has been. |

FC made the mess when they released the game in a mess, all the players are doing is reacting in a normal manner for people who have been lied to and cheated. Back to topic, I don't know why they even bother at this point of releasing all the news articles. It's not like anyone who reads this site does not know how crappy the game is now regardless of what people post or what "news" is on the front page. The gaming world has spoken with their wallets and their credit cards. A year or so from now I will consider looking at the game again, but I know that the last 6 months has made too little difference to really matter.

I think the board hits speak for themselves showing the game is way more popular to talk about than say even games like lotro and WoW which are established. Many more people come to read what happening because under that inital release upset, things are much better :)

Not sure if you can translate as much of that as you'd like into a positive spin though.
I for one visit here from time to time because it's where the "action" is. Do I think AoC is the best mmo atm? Nope. Am I interested in buying or trying it out in the near future? Nope. Didn't buy it at release... no intention of buying it anytime in the near future either. I'd put EQ2, LoTRo, WoW, EvE, Vanguard, even WAR... ahead of it atm. That's my opinion. I still visit here quite often though because it's interesting to read about the new things happening in the game and to see if they are successful or not. I'm genuinely interesting in seeing if Funcom can pull itself out of the mess that they got themselves into with the release that they had. I don't wish for their demise... but it wouldn't be a big deal to me if they went under either. Just your standard everyday gawker.
It's a win-win situation for a site like mmorpg.com. As long as things don't get too much out of hand... they could really care less if the visitors are fans or haters of the game. As long as the readers come and visit... that's really all that matters. |

They want to see FC fail and they like to come here to check out the latest exploit scandal, who has been fired or who resigned, how subscription numbers are dropping, etc.
I see that you recently joined here, just out of curiousity do you know the other 5 people that joined here in the past 2 weeks from exactly where you are whom all say the same thing? really is co-incidental isn't it. I would argue that plenty of readers come to actually read about the game on mmorpg.com rather than looking to see fail, depends if you consider several multiple accounts as several people or just the one I guess.

I believe FC had good idea, but relatively bad execution. AoC have some pretty nifty graphics, but the game design itself is nothing too impressive. No matter how good an idea is, if it is not accepted by the population. There is no future. |

There is a future in AoC as long as there are more than 10k subs. Anyways there is new stuff going on in AoC, but its pace is slow due to small company. If you are willing to wait for it then wait, if not then don't. Its that simple. AoC isn't that special, but its special enough for me to like it. I've been waiting for an active combat MMO since FFXI. But then again, all the MMOs coming out are that special either, it just depends on how much stuff they have in game when it is released. The only game I think that won't tank is Darkfall, because from the things coming out about the others they are all going to be a shell of an MMO for people used to WoWs level of content. Shame

Actually that last comment is more directed at FC. AoC doesn't apply since the idea it self is nothing new. AoC kinda focuses on more combat and graphics more. So, that last comment don't quite apply. |

Complaining about the number of articles on a game ? You don't like them , don't read them, if they don't get suffucient hits, there will be less in the future. But if it really bothers you, maybe you should get some professional help .... |
