Miscbattles im not going to let you drag me into another back and forth. Maybe if you answer that question that you clearly ignored over and over in that other thread ill consider taking anything you say seriously. Until then you will just be admiting that you are someone who has had past accounts banned and this is just your latest DF bashing account. Am I a fan of DF. Yes very much so. Do I enjoy talking to other fans on the forum?...of course, its healthy. Do i enjoy having a good discussion with skeptics of the game?....definitely, especially since they are so rare on this site. I think the animations are horrible and have other doubts about the game, and i enjoy discussing them. You however make account after account to come here to mmorpg.com and do nothing but troll DF. stayontarget is just as bad if not worse. Anything related to DF he hops all over and just bashes, and usually isnt even on topic. There was a blog about DF being shown on a tv show, and stayontarget's response was to drop a one liner about how they are testing beta....yea thats what i thought. Care to explain the reasoning behind that? Cant? Didnt think so. Its pure trolling. Sorry but you arent going to prove anything for calling me a fan. Ill see you in game though miscbattles. Since you obviously are interested in the game. ---sig---

Oh man I almost forgot that one. So what beta's have we had so far: 1) 2003 after they missed beta date they call it "Closed technical beta" - still no one from outside the company plays. 2) 2006 after they missed beta date there they explain it with, that they did indeed enter beta, namely a so-called "Internal beta" (what others call alpha) - still no one from outside the company plays. 3) 2008 (or 2007?) "Closed beta" with internal proff. testers. Others call this alpha. still no one from outside the company plays, they proff. testers come to Aventurine office and plays there. 4) sept. 2008 - "hardware testing beta". Still no one from outside the company plays the game as tasos stated later on. Man alot of weird "beta's" going on, thats for sure. I wonder what they will call the next one. Must be hard coming up with these obscure beta titles. Anyways, it will be kinda hard for them to have time for both clan beta (which we signed up for in 2005) and closed beta (which we signed for a few months back). Hmm no wait, closed beta has been goign on since march right? Uhm guess they couldnt find a good name for that beta. Their best bet if they aim for december release is probably just have a short 2-3 weeks open beta in november. But I must say that if they don't deliver this time, they really really really look like complete incompetent twats - in the same category as the Mourning and D&L teams. And us fanboys who supported them and hyped their game will look like complete idiots also. Lets hope that wont happen ;)

I have to say I really hope they manage to deliver something credible. I just can't help feeling that they might be being a touch naieve if they think that a small group of internal testers is going to uncover all the stuff they need to. I also hope that they have evolved and learnt the lessons they need to over the lengthy development process. Hard to tell, at least they aren't making extravagent claims (except for release this year). Just hope that Tasos dosent turn out to be another McQuaid or Garriot i.e. somone that starts to believe the fantasy rather than the reality of thier game. |

If you promise only half of what your offering and deliver apon that and have another half left that goes with it that people are unaware of would he be doing just that? That would be offering more than you promised. Lets say I told you I had a Motercycle for sale, advertised it and sold it for 2k the person comes picks it up and they get a Leather Jacket to boot, a helmet with build in radio, and a years worth of gas..... did I not just give the guy more than I promised? lol in no way assume that I am thinking or saying what DarkFall will give us extra in any way will relate to this analogy. I believe it will be more like going into a resteraunt and ordering a main course and getting an unexpected free desert as well. But with the limited ammount of Info they seem to want to give waiting fans it would seem there in a very good position to offer more than they have promised so far. Because they have promised very little lol so far, so ........ |

HAHA awesome. I must ask, how do you have a reliable "internal hardware test"? Isn't the whole point of hardware testing having many people from outside the company test it since there is a huge amount of different hardware combos in use by different people? I'm sure the Darkfall clan will just claim that Tasos bought Every single piece of hardware available and is able to test it himself this way. /sigh Logic and common sense are received with a hostile response on this forum. Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic |

It was my understanding aventurine stated they had tested 100x100 and that the 200 number was Fanboi hype. I might be wrong though so please post a link supporting your statement. TIA

Actually you are correct, I had for gotten that was corrected. Some fans translated a greek article fairly poorly and I had it in my bookmarks but forgot about it lol. system requirements? http://www.mmorpgitalia.it/forum/f296/intervista-su-sito-greco-203052/ http://darkfall.mosesonline.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=664&view=previous The actual article said What are the estimated minimum requirements? So my appologies and thank you for the correction. On a side nore 30-60 fps was around average FPS while solo in AoC (Age of Conan) lol. Atleast when I was playing. |

I already said I hope this game comes out when Announced. I'll probably give it a try since I like sandbox style games, but unfortunately the sandbox style is the only thing I like about this game that I have seen so far, since I don't like fantasy settings, I don't like FPS in my MMO's, and I don't like FFA PvP. But who knows, maybe I'll actually like it, maybe it will be great, maybe I won't like it and maybe it will suck. I'm just tired of seeing the fans spam this website with constant announcments about how this game is the savior of the genre when in reality very little is actually known about it besides stuff that devs say, and the past has proven devs lie(not just this game). /sigh. You really have to take this announcment with a grain of salt since your graphics card and ram have a WAY bigger effect on frames per second than your processor does. Back when I had my old Pentium 4 computer, I threw an 8800 and 2gb of ram in it while I was building my new computer and it ran everything like a champ, even though the processor was very crappy. Since they only tell you that they were using a single core processor and nothing else, this means absolutely nothing. Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic |

I can understand where your comming from. The fans your speaking of though a large portion in this particular forum are fans of Fantasy MMO's that are sandbox. Many of us have wanted the No auto attack no target lock combat, and many of us dearly enjoy the FFA PvP and the full loot. Many also enjoy the concepts behing the AI. While this may not be your ideal game, it has much of what many of us currently on the DarkFall side of MMORPG.com have been waiting for and asking for. The fact that the devs of DarkFall came from games many of us did and seem to have enjoyed them as much as we did has game many the impression that DarkFall will be the game they have waited on. Those that say it is the savior of the genre do so because to them it is. Fantasy Sandbox MMORPG with FFA PvP Full loot. Many of us have been without a MMO like this since Ultima Online lol. The problem many have with some of what you post is that you are simply trying to rain on others parade for the simple fact misery loves company. You aren't optomistic about the game so you do your best to persuade others to be as pesemistic as you. What that does is really simple. With the ongoing hater trolls constantly trying to stir up what trouble they can, your posts atleast some are seen by others in the same light. Because if you truely were attempting to be logical and use comment sense then you would know you can not change anothers opinion without evidence directly refutting there opinion and even then this doesn't always work. Remain skeptical this is your choice, but you can not force that opinion on others, attempting to do so will merely get you the opposite effect. Those that percieve themselve's being attacked for what they believe in tend to fight back especialy when those percieved as attacking them have nothing to back them up. This is a very normal human reaction. So you are allowed your views and opinions, many just want the same right extended to them that is extended to you. |

You guys really will believe anything. 170-200FPS in the wilderness? Bull shit. They won't(if this game ever actually launches, and I doubt it will)break 100FPS on a midrange system. |

uo has better graphics than shadowbane. uo offers a lot more, in terms of gameplay AND sandbox, than most any game out (or in production). but, graphics don't mean anything, right? tell that to uo. could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please? |

It amazes me how so many individuals still think this game is going to be released in 2008...if at all. |
