This game looks realy good can't wait to play in Dec.

 Yeah, it's pretty awesome. And even though it's a wow clone, it's one of the best Free MMO.

For me it's not quite there yet. Some parts look very nice but other parts look as if they were beaten to death with the blurry-stick-of-awesomeness.

Also it feels...clunky. Not as bad Lineage 2 did, but kinda like that.

Feature wise it has a lot of neat stuff copied from other games. I wish it were a P2P :)

So far this game looks too much like Guild  wars. i wounder if this will be better or worse. what do you guys think?

The only thing I can think of that this game has in common with Guild Wars is that there are no playable races aside from humans. Aside from that fact, this game has as much in common with Guild Wars as trampled puppies do to footwear. I don't know what that means, either. I do know that Runes of Magic is more similar to vanilla World of Warcraft than any other game, though.

That isn't necessarily a bad thing. If the developers can capture what made the original World of Warcraft great, as opposed to the disastrous Burning Crusade and beyond, then they could be looking forward to having a lot of players.

It's, alright I guess.

My machine meets the minimum reqs, with everything turned down you still get some framerate loss in any of the "villages" in the newbie area. I'd call them towns but they are simply villages with a handful of NPC's. Leveling is alright I guess, at least for the first 10 levels. Questing is the only real way to gain money, mobs don't drop any and the low level loot doesn't sell for much. At least, so far.

I can't figure out if it's a damn German game or Asian. The entire main site is German (not counting the English version). The site to signup and subscribe is in German, but quite a bit of things in-game are in Asian fonts. I love getting some rare or magical item, that is described in Asian font characters o_O And sadly the few people I saw chatting in General Chat, were speaking German.

The newbie area is nice, straight forward. Tad small, but to the point. Sadly there seems to be almost no one on, that I saw. Sure you see a few people here and there but they aren't exactly 30,000 people that are supposed to have been inducted in the last two months.

I might play it some more but the low FPS is gonna be a bother as I get farther in. I can already tell the first big city is gonna be a slideshow.

God no, not like that :) I meant that if it had been intended as a P2P then the development cyclus would have been different and the resulting quality would have been different. Better? More than not, I believe.

Not to mention the "perks" you get when playing a F2P...the community, some-way-for-the-company-to-make-money etc.

It's why I said what I said back then because the basis for this game is just

Software in Beta tends not to be fully localized.  textures and animation (as opposed to models) tend to be late-stage production items as well.

Oh shut up. You've never even played RoM or WoW. One look at the layouts of the HUD and you'd laugh yourself silly.

Personally I don't mind as long as it's good, and I love the game as it is on my top MMO game. Sure it's not a "CLONE", but just admit, it's layout IS WOWish. And not the MMORPG aspects of the game , but the way everything works. if it were a "clone", it would have the same world and everything, but this game is not.

I was in the same mindset as you were before I even played the CB. I was really hyped up and was against every "WoW clone" speaker. That until I played it. I started to agree with them, but I still think that it's the best F2P MMO ever. It doesn't take any reasearch to tell, all games aren't close to the attributes of the Quest system and the HUD layouts. I challenge you to find one game.

While I disagree with you that it is VERY different of WoW in every aspect, I do agree the game rocks and would get me addicted for a long time into the future.
